By default, video is recorded to the archive with the same frame rate as the video capture card digitizes it. Thus, to reduce the archive size, you can configure the frame rate of this parameter.

The reduction of the video recording frame rate doesn't affect the displaying of the video on the server monitor and its transmission to the Remote Workstations by the network.

To change the recording frame rate, do the following:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab in the System settings window.
  2. Select the Camera object corresponding to the required camera in the objects tree. The settings panel for the selected object is displayed on the right of the Hardware tab.
  3. Go to the Basic settings tab on the settings panel of the Camera object.
  4. Specify the recording frame rate value in the Recording frame rate field. The value mustn't exceed the digitization frame rate value. The value set for the Recording frame rate parameter allows calculating the interval (msec) in which a frame must be captured for archive recording. You can calculate according to the formula:
Interval = 1000 / Value in the Recording frame rate field

When setting the value of the Recording frame rate parameter, note the video digitizing rate and frame rate (fps). Otherwise, the actual recording speed can differ from the set one.
  5. Click the Apply button.

Setting the video frame rate is complete.
