If the database of the Event Viewer is extracted to a separate database (see Extracting event protocol into an individual database), configure the connection to the database of the Event Viewer as follows:

  1. Go to the DB tab on the settings panel of the Operator protocol object (1).

  2. Set the connection parameters in one of the following ways:
    1. Click the Connection dialog button (2) and set parameters for connecting to an external database using the standard dialog window (see Configuring the database server connection in a dialog mode).
    2. Set connection parameters manually:
      1. In the Server field (3), enter the name of the database server to connect to.

        Note

When you work in the distributed configuration, you must enter the name of the computer where the database is stored without the (local) value. For example, "WS1\SQLEXPRESS", where WS1 is the name of the computer on which the database is stored.

Connection is performed only to the database that is specified in the settings. The data about the objects is requested from this database and matched with the data sent from the server that contains these objects. That is why you cannot display the operator protocol set to the computer with the installed vertical solution and database on the computer where they aren't present.

      2. In the Folder field (4), enter the name of the database to store events.
      3. In the User field (5), enter the username for the authorization on the database server.
      4. In the Password field (6), enter the password for the authorization on the database server.
  3. Click the Apply button.

Configuring the connection to the external database of the Event Viewer is complete.
