Requirements for the correct operation of video analytics are given in the table:

Camera
Lighting
  • Moderate lighting. Insufficient or excessive lighting (night or bright sunlight) may impact the quality of video analytics
  • No abrupt changes in lighting
Scene and camera angle
  • Moving objects are visually separable from each other
  • The background is mostly static and doesn't change abruptly.
  • Moving objects are minimally obscured by static objects in the scene (columns, industrial products, and so on)
  • Reflective surfaces and harsh shadows from moving objects can affect the quality of analytics
  • Long single-color objects may not be tracked properly

Object images for smart video detection tools

  • An object must be visible on the image
  • There is no noise on the video image and there are no artifacts caused by the compression algorithm
  • The width and height of objects in the video should not be less than 1% of the frame size (at resolutions not less than 1920x1080 pixels) or 15 pixels (at lower resolutions)
  • The width and height of objects in the video should not be more than 75% of the frame size
  • It is recommended that the linear measurements of objects in the frame do not exceed 75% of the frame size
  • The speed of objects in the frame must be at least 1 pixel per second
  • The object is to be visible at not less than 8 frames

  • Within two adjacent frames the object cannot move in the movement direction for the distance that is longer than its size

  • Quantity of simultaneously tracked objects on a frame—no more than 25

  • No labels
