For each standard detection sub-tool (except for Line Crossing, see Standard detection sub-tools), you can specify an area where detection and metadata generation will be performed. 

After you create a detection tool, a rectangular detection area is displayed in bright color on the frame:

You can configure a detection area similar to a skip area (see Configuring a skip area).
