Axxon One is the hardware and software system designed for video analytics tasks and video surveillance management. For the stable performance of all its components, the server must correspond to certain hardware requirements that depend on the system scale and used functions.

The main tool for calculation is the AxxonSoft Platform Calculator. It helps to determine the required hardware configuration accurately (RAM, processor, hard disk) for the specific script.

Means

Requirements

Configuration with two processors

We recommend disabling the Hyper-threading option in BIOS in order to improve the predictability of performance and reduce delays on the servers with two physical CPU (sokets)

AMD platforms

We don't guarantee the correct operation of Axxon One on the AMD platforms (processors, integrated and discrete graphics). We recommend using platforms based on the Intel processors

RAM

Minimum capacity: 8 GB.

Recommendations: You can calculate the required memory capacity in the AxxonSoft Platform Calculator. When you use the memory with a greater frequency in the multi-channel mode (Dual-Channel, Quad-Channel), it reduces the load on the memory controller and increases the overall system performance

Video adapters
  • Requirements for OpenGL:
    • The GPU supporting OpenGL version 2.0 and higher is required for the video output operation only (the display of the interface on the monitor). For servers without monitors, this requirement is irrelevant.
  • Minimum requirements:
    • Discrete NVIDIA GPU: GeForce 7300LE / GeForce 200 or higher (512MB).
    • Integrated GPU: Intel HD Graphics 530.
  • Recommended requirements:
    • Discrete NVIDIA GPU: GeForce 1030 (1GB) or higher, Quadro P400.
    • Integrated GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630 or higher.
  • Extensions checkup:
    • For the video output to operate, the ARB_vertex_program, GL_EXT_blend_func_separate, GL_ARB_framebuffer_object extensions are required. You can check if they are present by using the OpenGL Extension Viewer utility.
  • Drivers:
    • We always recommend using the latest stable driver versions from the manufacturer.
  • Several adapters:
    • If there are several installed video adapters in the system, you must select the adapter corresponding to minimum requirements as the main one in the OS settings (for image display)
