The number of PTZ devices connected to the server is specified in the license key bundled along with the Axxon PSIM distribution kit.
Each PTZ device in Axxon PSIM has the corresponding PTZ device system object. The PTZ device object is a child object to the Telemetry Controller object.
The PTZ device configuration includes the stages of selecting the camera equipped by the PTZ device and setting PTZ hardware addresses. When you use the absolute telemetry, the calibration setup is required, see Configuring points calibration in the camera FOV.
Configure several PTZ devices one after another.
To configure the PTZ device, do the following:
Create the PTZ device object on the basis of the Telemetry Controller system object, or select the corresponding object in the object tree on the Hardware tab of the System settings dialog window (2).
When you create the PTZ device object, you must specify the ID, the object name and select the Telemetry Controller object to which the PTZ device is connected (3).
Select the name of the camera equipped by the PTZ device (5).
Note
You must specify either the camera ID or its name.
In the Presets table, set the checkboxes next to the presets that you want to display in the Telemetry control panel (see the Configuring the telemetry control panel section). Change the preset's name if necessary (6).
Note
To select all presets or cancel this operation, use the Select/Deselect checkbox (7).
The number of presets depends on the device, see Appendix 6. Maximum number of presets for IP devices.
In the Zooming group (8), set the minimum and maximum speed of the optical zoom in conventional units for the PTZ device.
In the Mouse group (9), set the minimum and maximum rotation speed in conventional units for the PTZ device when controlling from the surveillance monitor with the mouse.
In the Joystick group (10), set the minimum and maximum rotation speed in conventional units for the PTZ device when controlling with a joystick.
In the Point&Click group (11), set the minimum and maximum rotation speed of the PTZ device in the direction of the mouse pointer click (Point&Click) in conventional units for the PTZ device.
If you want to disable the continuous PTZ control mode, set the Force disabling continuous PTZ mode checkbox (13).
Note
If you clear the checkbox, then the continuous PTZ control mode is automatically enabled for PTZ devices that support it.
To save the changes, click the Apply button (14).
