If the distributed system is built on the basis of a network in which Servers and/or Clients are behind NAT, then it is recommended to use VPN technology for the operation of such system. However, this is not a requirement: the distributed architecture may be configured in the usual way as described in Configuring the interaction of distributed system components. In this case, make sure to specify Server external IP address for Client-to-Server connection and do not specify the Client IP address.
When you configure NAT the ports that are used by started Axxon PSIM™ modules are to be opened — see The list of TCP ports used in Axxon PSIM™ section. Moreover the ports that are used by MS SQL Server for database synchronization are to be opened.
Note.
If an ONVIF IP-camera is behind NAT, then proper operation of this camera is not guaranteed. This limitation is due to the special features of the ONVIF protocol.
