Updating from previous versions

It is recommended to upgrade from earlier versions through steps: 3.6.4. → 4.1.0 → 4.3.2 → 4.4.0.  To do this, run the installer of the new version and select the existing configuration during the installation. Deinstallation of the previous version is not required.

Important!

The Axxon Next 4.4.0 includes the newer PostgreSQL 10.8.0 database.

Do not update PostgreSQL up to 10.8.0 when upgrading Axxon Next from previous versions. It may cause the information in the database to be inaccessible.

Important!

Pay attention to these features when updating from version 3.6 to 4.4.0:

  1. (error) Auto rules, as well as the E-mail and SMS objects are not migrated to a new version.
  2. (error) System log events are not migrated.
  3. Detection zones are to be configured for detection tools. (error) In some cases some detection tools are not migrated to a new version.
  4. The key frame scaling is set in the archive settings for cameras streaming H.264.
  5. Select the video folder once again for virtual cameras.
  6. If necessary, re-create the layouts to make them availabile in the web client.

Important!

When upgrading from version 4.1, the simultaneous significant CPU load increase and the detection quality improvement are possible, if the motion detection is used with the Decode key frames option disabled.
This is due to the new motion detection algorithm.

Important!

Sometimes, when upgrading to version 4.4.0, there may be an issue on Client with the top panel displaying.

In this case,  it is recommended to install the latest version of Intel Graphics Driver.
