Purpose of Axxon One + ACFA + ACS/FSA/PID equipment integration

  • Provide user interface within different subsystems of security equipment in one software.
  • Set up cause-and-effect relations between different subsystems (video surveillance, FSA, ACS, and so on).
  • Use network capability of the software.
  • Joint marketing promotion of integrated solutions by manufacturers of software and equipment.

Integrated equipment

Designation in the table

Description
Functionality
Monitoring

Integration module only allows you to receive events. Control and configuration from Axxon One + ACFA is impossible

Monitoring, control

Integration module allows you to receive events and control objects, for example, from a map: arm/disarm alarm loops, command actuating devices, and so on. Configuration from Axxon One + ACFA is impossible

Monitoring, control, configuration

Integration module allows you to perform any operations (equipment configuration, control, monitoring) using only Axxon One + ACFA

Auto configuration

Integration module allows you to read configuration from equipment and build the corresponding object tree in Axxon One + ACFA

Type of integration

Low-level protocol

System developer has provided events, reactions, commands as a set of bytes for connection to the equipment, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon One + ACFA

SDK

Software Development Kit. System developer has provided an SDK, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon One + ACFA

Communication server

Driver program. System developer has provided their own driver (a software layer between AxxonSoft software and the equipment in which events, reactions, configuration commands, and status polling are embedded) for connecting the equipment. In order to connect the equipment to Axxon One + ACFA, you must install third-party service software and configure its interaction with Axxon One + ACFA. COM server and OPC server are examples of such programs

API

Application Programming Interface. System developer has provided an API for working with the equipment via the Web-server embedded into the equipment, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon One + ACFA

SOFT-SOFT

System developer has provided an API to enable the use of your commands in Axxon One + ACFA and the Axxon One + ACFA commands in your software. In order to connect the equipment to Axxon One + ACFA, you must install the full version of the third-party software and configure its interaction with Axxon One + ACFA. Database synchronization is a variant of SOFT-SOFT type of integration at the level of sharing one database between two software, for example, for access to Event Viewer

Note

For SOFT-SOFT type of integration, the equipment connection interface isn't specified, since Axxon One + ACFA isn't connected directly to the equipment, but to third-party software. We recommend you to contact the manufacturer of such software to specify the equipment connection interface.

Universal protocol

Universal protocol integration:

  • OPC and BACnet are industry standards. System developer makes OPC server or BACnet server implementation for their devices and transfers data via OPC or BACnet protocol. Axxon One + ACFA is a client of such servers and receives data (events, reactions, configuration commands, and so on).
  • SNMP is a network protocol, which allows monitoring of some devices.
  • Modbus is a communication protocol, which allows devices to communicate with each other, exchange data and commands. You can use it to monitor and control various devices such as sensors, actuating devices and controllers
Drivers Pack

Integration by one of the above methods via Drivers Pack. When you use this type of integration, you must install Axxon One, ACFA, and Drivers Pack to work with the equipment

Service integration modules

MQTT Broker

The MQTT broker integration module is part of ACFA and serves as an optional feature for ACFA integrations that use the MQTT protocol. Its presence eliminates the need to install third-party MQTT Broker applications, which simplifies the integration process and improves usability. This module doesn’t send events to any interfaces and has no control commands

Module isn't licensed1.0
ActiveMQ broker

Module is used to connect devices that use it for operation. Apache ActiveMQ is the most popular multiprotocol message broker with open source code, based on Java. Apache ActiveMQ translates messages from sender to receiver. It can connect multiple clients and servers and allows storing messages in a queue, rather than requiring both client and server to be available at the same time for communication. Such message brokers are often used in enterprise systems or any systems with a complex architecture

Module isn't licensed2.0
Emulator ACFA

Module can perform the following actions:

  • simulate the modes and states of the FSA/ACS and PID hardware;
  • simulate the actions of the FSA/ACS and PID operator;
  • simulate triggering of hardware and/or change of hardware state to which the operator must respond
