Documentation for Intellect 4.10.4. Documentation for other versions of Intellect is available too.
It is possible to create multilevel maps consisting of several layersin Intellect.
In case of multiple layers, there sould be links between the layers. These links help going to other layers for on-the-fly control and viewing of the device objects located on them.
The links are created in the Map editor utility. To run the Map editor, click Edit layer in the settings panel of the Layer object. When a link is set, a special symbol appears on the map. Clicking on this symbol takes the operator from the current layer to another layer.
Note
Create a new link from the current layer to another as follows:
- Select Links in the Map editor main menu, then select Add link with layer.
The Link with layer window opens, allowing to select the layer to link to.
There is another way to open the Link to layer window. In the Map editor, right-click anywhere on the layer map. The context menu will open. Select the Add link with layer item from this menu. Do the following in the Link to layer window:
If the switch to the layer of another map is to be performed, then select the required Map object in the Link to: dropdown list (1). If the switch to the layer of the same map is to be performed, then select an empty value in the dropdown list.
Note
The layer of another map is opened in this map box and not in the box where there is the layer the switch is performed from.
- Select a layer the switch is to be performed to (2). If the link is used to go to the previous layer displayed in the Map window, then the Previous is to be selected. The link to the previous layer is active only within one Map. When there is switch from the layer of one Map to the layer of another Map, then the switch to the previous layer can be performed only from the layer of the second Map.
- Enter the name for this link in the Link name field (3). If the name is not specified, then by default it will be set as the corresponding layer name.
If the link on the map is to be displayed as a polygon, set the Polygon checkbox checked (4).
Note
The color and shape of the polygon are set after adding it to the layer. By default, the link is represented by a green hexagon.
- If the selected layer the switch will be performed to, is on another map, then in the Color of active layer dropdown list select the color the link will be highlighted when this layer is active on the map (5).
- Click the OK button to create the link (6).
As a result an icon representing the link will appear on the map. The icon of the link is represented by a red triangle or a polygon if the Polygon checkbox was set checked (see step 2.d):
The feature menu appears when right-clicking the polygon holding down the Ctrl key. The following features are available:
- Add apex – add a new apex to the polygon. A new apex appears when selecting this menu item. One is to locate it left-clicking on the map.
- Properties – display the properties panel of the icon on the right of the Map editor utility. Using this panel one can set the color and opacity of the normal and alarm states of the layer icon, as well as configure whether to hide frame limiting the polygon.
By default the icon of linking to this layer starts blinking if an alarm is detected on the layer. If additional indication is required, it is possible to configure an alarm icon of linking to the layer. To do this place the file link_alarm.bmp containing some image characterizing alarm on the layer to the <Intellect installation folder>/Bmp folder. If there is such file in the Bmp folder then the icon of linking to this layer will be changed to the image from the link_alarm.bmp file and start blinking by alarm on this layer.
