Previous page Remote removal of Intellect software  Example. Consolidation of two Servers into cluster and Intellect configuration Next page

Cluster is a group of independent computers operating together as a whole system providing clients with a general set of services. Cluster enables expanding both accessibility of services and scalability and controllability of their OS.

To set up a cluster for INTELLECT, stick to the following rules:

  1. INTELLECT is to be installed on all the computers forming the cluster.
  2. INTELLECT configuration (paths to the installed INTELLECT software and video archive disks) is to be identical on all computers.
  3. All computers, forming the cluster, are to be in one network domain.
  4. All computers are to run one OS Windows Server.
  5. If the Intellect software is installed as a service, the InheritServiceEnvironment registry key must be created and set to 1 (the key is created in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ITV\INTELLECT\IntellectRunService\ section for 32-bit and in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ITV\INTELLECT\IntellectRunService\ for 64-bit systems).
  6. The specific name and password must be used for database connection.

Note.

Nets organization and setting up order are given in the Windows Server reference manual (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/failover-clustering).
