Cameras have embedded detectors. For just about all detectors, you must specify the detection area, schedule (how long the detector must work, on what days), sensitivity, as well as specific settings depending on the detector, for example, object size (minimum and maximum size), threshold value (above which an event is generated), set the duration of the object stay in the area (above which an event is generated) and so on.
All detector settings are specified in the camera web interface. In Axxon PSIM, you can only create the Embedded detection object, by specifying its id in device terms (you must obtain the detector id from the camera web interface), and monitor detector events via the Embedded detection object (see Configuring embedded detection). Or you can use the IP Wizard utility to add a camera with embedded detectors (see Camera discovery tool).
The most commonly used embedded detectors are motion detector, tampering detector, line crossing detector, entrance in area/exit from area detector, abandoned object detector, object disappearance detector, defocus detector. Some cameras also have IVS, IVA, VCA analytics. This is a set of detectors that most commonly includes: line crossing detector, entrance in area/exit from area detector, abandoned object detector, object disappearance detector. Less used detectors are temperature detector, audio detector, visitors counter detector, license plate detector, face detector.
At the moment of writing the documentation, the embedded analytics of various cameras and Stretch cards (if it is supported, see official reference documentation for these devices) is integrated into Axxon PSIM.
Note
To find out if the embedded analytics is integrated for a particular camera, refer to the documentation for the corresponding version of Drivers Pack—see Documentation Drivers Pack.
Moreover, ACAP app for Axis cameras is supported by Axxon PSIM—AxxonSoft Object Tracker for Axis cameras. This app allows you to use AxxonSoft analytics in Axis devices. For the information on how to add the app to Axis device, as well as how to configure and use it in Axxon PSIM, see AxxonSoft Tracker in Axis devices. You can download the app here.
This section contains an example of embedded detectors auto setup. When you configure embedded detectors of specific devices manually, you must refer to their description in the official reference documentation for these devices.
Note
If there is no time synchronization for some IP devices, the events of the embedded detectors can work incorrectly in Axxon PSIM. In this case, we recommend you to enable the synchronization of time and time zone between the server and the IP device in the web interface of the latter.
