Documentation for Face Intellect 7.3. Documentation for other versions of Intellect is available too.
The required modules for face search, face recognition, etc. are activated by creating a corresponding object on the basis of the Face recognition server object:
- The Archive search channel module is used for searching the captured face in the face database and viewing the video archive of the captured face.
The Face characteristics channel module is used for the facial characteristics recognition for a specified channel.
Note
If the Face characteristics channel is not activated, then the facial characteristics of all newly captured faces will be marked as Undefined in the Face recognition and search interface window. However, if this module is activated later, then as Face Intellect operates and accumulates data, the undefined facial characteristics of already captured persons will be changed to averaged values.
This module provides the recognition of the following facial characteristics:
Age;
Note
If the age of the same person is determined with poor accuracy, then it is necessary to set the 1 or 5 value for the Tevian.TrackBestFramesCount key (for details, see Registry keys reference guide, for information about working with the registry, see Working with Windows OS registry).
Gender;
Emotion;
Glasses;
Facial hair;
Hair color;
Type of bald head;
Headwear;
Artificial face;
Face concealment.
Note
If masked faces are not recognized, then it is necessary to set the 0 value for the Tevian.GlobalTrackingDetectionFilter registry key (for details, see Registry keys reference guide, for information about working with the registry, see Working with Windows OS registry).
The Visitor counting channel module is used for counting visitors and repeated passes.
- The Face database replication module is used for the Server face database replication in a distributed configuration (see Configuring the Face database replication module).
The Recognition channel and Tevian/Cognitec/VisionLabs/STC recognition module are used for real-time face recognition for the specified channel.
Note
If it is necessary that the face recognition/non-recognition events come not from the Face recognition server object, but from the corresponding Recognition channel object, it is necessary to set the Generate a recognition event checkbox on the Recognition channel object settings panel.
Attention!
For correct operation of the recognition modules that run only on the x64 platform, the Run x64 modules checkbox should be checked on the settings panel of the Computer object (see Face recognition modules).
Note
After the Visitor counting channel, Archive search channel, Recognition channel and Face characteristics channel modules are activated, it is necessary to select the required Face detection object on the settings panel of the corresponding object (see Configuring the captured faces recognition parameters).
Activation of the Tevian recognition module
The activation of the Tevian capture and recognition module is performed using the intellect.sec key file. Additional key files are not required.
The module is activated by the standard activation procedure that includes creating a Tevian recognition module object on the basis of the Face recognition server. A child object that shows the number of faces in the database should be created on the basis of the created object:
Note
Standard memory consumption for the Tevian recognition module is up to 500 MB per channel.
For small databases (up to 1000 faces), the module can handle events at a speed of no more than 1500 events per second.
For larger databases, the number of compared faces is from 390 to 550 per second for one processor core.
Note
There are lots of parameters settings in Tevian module - they are set in Windows registry (see Registry keys reference guide and Working with Windows OS registry).
Important!
For proper operation of Face Intellect after changing this parameter biometric vectors are to be converted as described in Transition between face recognition modules section.
Important!
SDK Tevian 2.8 is installed in Face Intellect 7.3. The current version of Tevian module can be seen in the Version/Vector size (bytes) field in the Statistics tab of the Face recognition and search interface module (see Displaying the statistics).
The activation of the Tevian face recognition module is completed.
Activation of the VisionLabs face recognition module
The VisionLabs recognition module is activated in two stages:
- Standard activation by means of creating a Cognitec recognition module object on the basis of the Face recognition server object. After the installation, activate the license key acquired from VisionLabs in the recognition module web interface (http://127.0.0.1:1947).
- Activation using a software key purchased directly from VisionLabs. For information on this activation method, contact VisionLabs.
The activation of the VisionLabs face recognition module is completed.
Activation of the STC recognition module
The STC recognition module is activated using the intellect.sec key file. No additional key files are required.
The module is activated in the standard way — by creating the STC recognition module object on the basis of the Face recognition server object.
Note
If it is necessary to skip the video frames see Configuring the frames skip of the STC recognition module.
The activation of the STC recognition module is complete.
Activation of the Cognitec recognition module
The Cognitec recognition module is activated in two stages:
- Standard activation by means of creating a Cognitec recognition module object on the basis of the Face recognition server object.
- Activation using the Cognitec key file by the following algorithm:
2.1. Create a request file:
- If the User Account Control component is disabled, run the hwkey.bat file in the <Face Intellect installation directory>\Modules\FaceRecognition\Cognitec8\bin folder.
- If the User Account Control component is enabled, run the command line as administrator, change to the <Face Intellect installation directory>\Modules\FaceRecognition\Cognitec8\bin folder and run the hwkey.bat file.
The Cognitec8lic.txt file with the information on the current PC configuration will be generated.
Attention!
2.2. Send the Cognitec8lic.txt file to the Face Intellect vendor.
2.3. Receive the activationkey.cfg from the Face Intellect vendor.
2.4. Copy the activationkey.cfg file to the <Face intellect installation directory>\Modules\FaceRecognition\Cognitec8\bin folder.
2.5. Rename the activationkey.cfg file to Cognitec8License.cfg.
2.6. Run the CognitecLicenseUtil.exe file in the <Face Intellect installation directory>\Modules\FaceRecognition as administrator.
Attention!
Administrator rights are required for proper operation of the CognitecLicenseUtil.exe file.
Re-installing the operation system on the PC that runs the face recognition module requires a new activation key file for the Cognitec recognition module.
Changing the hardware configuration or the name of the PC that runs the recognition module does not affect the Cognitec activation key.
The activation of the Cognitec face recognition module is completed.
