Video stream and scene requirements for the Object tracker and its sub-detectors

Attention!

The Abandoned object detector can operate only with the Object tracker detector.

Before you create and configure the Abandoned object detector, do the following:

  1. Create the Object tracker detector and set its general parameters (see Configuring the Object tracker).
  2. Configure some parameters of the Object tracker detector as follows:

    Specify the time in seconds—if the object remains idle for the time longer than the specified, it will be detected. This value must be in the range [15, 1800].

    Note

    This parameter is used only for the Long-time abandoned object detection. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 15.

    For this parameter to work, it is necessary to first disable the Auto sensitivity parameter.

    Set the sensitivity for abandoned object detector and long-time abandoned object detection in the range [1, 100].

    Note

    This parameter depends on the lighting conditions and must be chosen empirically. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 20.

  3. Save the detector parameters by clicking the Apply button.

To create the Abandoned object detector, below the Object tracker detector, click Create... → Abandoned Object.

By default, the detector is enabled and set to detect brought and abandoned objects.

If necessary, you can change the detector parameters. The list of parameters is given in the table:

Maximum object height100

Set the maximum height of the object that must generate an event from the detector, as a percentage of the frame size. The value must be in the range [0.05, 100]

Minimum object height0,1Set the minimum height of the object that must generate an event from the detector, as a percentage of the frame size. The value must be in the range [0.05, 100]

Attention!

In the settings of the Object tracker detector and the Abandoned object sub-detector, the values of the maximum and minimum height and width of the object must be equal.

Select this value if it is necessary to detect both taken and abandoned objects

Abandoned

Select a value if it is necessary to detect an object that has disappeared from the monitored area and crossed its borders

Taken

By default, the entire frame is a detection area. If necessary, in the preview window, you can reduce the detection area (see Configuring a detection area) and/or set one or more skip areas (see Configuring a skip area).

Note

  • For convenience of configuration, you can "freeze" the frame. Click the button. To cancel the action, click this button again.
  • The detection area is displayed by default. To hide it, click the button. To cancel the action, click this button again.

To save the parameters of the detector, click the Apply  button. To cancel the changes, click the Cancel  button.

The Abandoned object detector is now configured.
