SIP-terminal is designed to implement IP telephony within the distributed system configuration. IP telephony can be implemented with or without physical SIP-devices. Thus, the SIP-terminal allows organizing single and group calls between operators and SIP-devices in the Server/Remote Admin Workstation/Remote Client configurations.

SIP-devices are IP devices, mainly intercoms and call panels, connected to Intellect via the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). |
The Intellect can act both as a server and as a SIP client, and client. The SIP server for the Intellect's SIP client can use be either third-party Asterisk software or the Intellect's SIP server as a SIP server.
SIP-devices are configured on the settings panel of the SIP-terminal object created on the basis of the Computer object on the Hardware tab of the System Settings dialog box, and also on the settings panel of its child objects — SIP-operator and SIP-device.
The SIP-terminal (both server and client) is configured in the following order:
- Configure the Intellect SIP server (see Configuring the Intellect SIP server).
- Configure the Intellect SIP client (see Configuring the Intellect SIP client)
- Select the terminal type.
- Specify the terminal network settings.
- Create and configure the objects corresponding to the SIP-devices.
- Create and configure the objects corresponding to address books (see Configuring the SIP -device operatorsTerminal Address Book).
- Configure the special numbers of the terminal .Configure the numbers of the terminalnumbers (see Configuring Special Numbers of a SIP Terminal in Intellect).
- If necessary, create and configure the macros to work for working with the a SIP-devicesterminal (see Macros for working with a SIP terminal).
- Configure the interface objects to work with the SIP-devices.
- Configure the SIP Panel interface object to work with the SIP-devices.

- terminal numbers (see Configuring SIP-terminal numbers in Intellect software package).
- Select a speaker, microphone, and camera for each SIP-operator (see Selecting a speaker, microphone, and camera for a SIP operator).
- If you need to work with SIP-devices and SIP-operators from the map, add the corresponding objects to the map (see Attaching objects to an interactive map layer).
- Configure the SIP Panel interface object (see
...
- Configuring the SIP-panel interface object).
