The POS terminal data collection utility is used to collect information from the POS terminal.

To collect information from the POS terminal using the POS terminal data collection utility, the POS terminal must support data transfer via network or COM port.

To collect information from the POS terminal, do the following:

  1. Disable the Event Source object (see Configuring POS devices) and stop the server (see Stopping the Server).
  2. Download

Follow these steps to gather required information about POS terminal using a special utility:

    If the POS-terminal supports data transmission over Ethernet or via the COM port, download
  1. the POS Terminal Data Collection Utility at
  2. the

  5. website.
  6. Extract downloaded archive into any folder
  7. Unzip the archive.
  8. Connect the POS terminal to the computer.
  9. Run the
  10. ProtocolListener
  11. ProtocolLicenser.exe utility executable file.
    The Read protocol from service window opens.

  14. In the Log file name

  20. the required information will be saved. By default, the file is
  21. stored
  22. saved in the same folder

  31. COM-port, specify connection parameters in the COM tab.
  32. If the POS-terminal is connected to the computer via Ethernet, specify connection parameters for TCP or UDP protocol in the corresponding tab.
  33. Click Start to run

    1. COM port—in the COM tab.
    2. UDP protocol—in the UPD tab.
    3. TCP protocol—in the TCP tab.
  35. Click the Start button to start log collection.
  36. Start using the POS

  39. , i.e. issuing receipts. It is highly recommended to do all the operations including Cancel, Return, etc.
    Process of gathering info is displayed via the

  • problem description,
  • a collected LOG file,
  • copies of receipts
