Also, a window for selecting the Update Service as a service (services) installation type is displayed. If you want to start the Update Service before the user logs into the Windows OS and before the startup of the Windows applications (including Explorer, used to start both the Windows OS interfaces and different installed applications on the server), set the Install as a service checkbox.
In this case, the icon isn't displayed in the taskbar. You can realize that the service is running in the Task Manager by the UpdateAgent.Core.exe process or by the Update Agent service. (for more details, see Features of the Automatic Update Service , installed as a service).

When you run the Update Service for the first time, the IP address and port of the update server are automatically detected and written to the settings.json file. If necessary, you can change them—Changing the IP address of the update server.

When you install the Update Service, a separate branch, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Update Service, is created in the registry. The branch is deleted from the registry when you remove the Update Service (see Axxon PSIM base version, for the information on working with the registry, see Working with Windows OS registry).

The information about installation is stored in the UpdateServiceSetup.log log file at C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp.

When you try to install an older version of the the Update Service, a warning window opens:
