If you install INTELLECT™ software Axxon PSIM on a computer where an earlier version is used, then the installation will be performed in the updating mode.

Important to know before updating Axxon PSIM:

  1. Before updating, we recommend you back up all databases that you use—see Creating the database backup copy. Also, copy and save the psim.sec license file (located in the root of the Axxon PSIM installation directory, by default: C:\Program Files/Axxon PSIM).
  2. Axxon PSIM can be updated if there is a difference in the third digit of the version number and the first two digits are the same. If the first and/or second digits are different, you must reinstall Axxon PSIM instead of updating, that is, uninstall the previous version and install the new one.
    Examples:
    1. you can update from version 1.0.1 to version 1.0.2;
    2. you cannot update from version 1.0.1 to 1.2.0, you need to reinstall.
  3. Before starting the update, you must stop Axxon PSIM if it is running.
  4. You must run the update as a Windows administrator.
  5. When you update Axxon PSIM on the server or Remote Administrator’s workstation, you must also update Axxon PSIM on Remote client. The compatible versions of Axxon PSIM must

Update the Intellect software on Remote Clients while its updating on the Server or on Remote Admin Workstation.

The compatible versions of the Intellect software should

  1. You can update Axxon PSIM 1.0 to Axxon PSIM 2.0. This process requires manual configuration. For detailed information on updating, please contact technical support.

To update Axxon PSIM, do the following:

  1. Unpack the installation kit as described in Getting ready for Axxon PSIM installation; the . The destination folder will show the contents of the kit.

  2. Run the setup.exe file to start the INTELLECT™ software installation Axxon PSIM installation procedure.

  6. Click the Next button.

    During the installation process, you will be prompted to remove the installed vertical solutions. Two options are possible:

    1. If you click the Yes button, the vertical solutions will be removed during the update process. In this case, you will need to reinstall them after the update. Installation manuals are available in the documentation for each solution, links are on the main documentation page for Axxon PSIM 1.0.0-1.0.1. You must also take into account the compatibility of versions: General information about product releases and versions compatibility.

    2. If you click the No button, the vertical solutions won't be removed and will be compatible with the new version of Axxon PSIM after the

    If Intellect is updated to a version whose second and/or third number is larger than that of the currently installed version (for example, from version 4.10.4 to 4.10.5, or 4.10.4 to 4.11.0), compatibility is lost with industry-specific vertical solutions built for old versions.   11. Click the Next button.
    When the system is configured, installation of INTELLECT™ software starts Axxon PSIM starts.

    To correctly finish the installation of Axxon PSIM, you must restart the computer. If you don’t choose to restart now, you will have to do it yourself after the installation.
