When using the smart search in the archive, the VMDA metadata storage is created and configured (see Creating and configuring VMDA metadata storage).
The size of the VMDA metadata storage depends on the frame rate, minimum and maximum object size, tracker sensitivity: the higher the frame rate and larger the object size, the more disk space is required for storage.
If the video is recorded 24 hours a day, you can use the following formula to estimate the disk space required to store the object tracks database:
VMDA (GB) = 0,5 GB * (Number of cameras) * (Number of days)
