Configuring the SIP-device

Before you start configuring the SIP-device connection to Intellect, it is necessary to configure the device itself. Each SIP-device is configured individually according to the manufacturer's documentation, however, it is always necessary to perform the following basic steps:

  1. Specify the IP address of the Intellect server that acts as a SIP server.
  2. Check or specify the SIP-device identification number (the number used for calls).
  3. Set the password for the SIP-server connection.
  4. If the SIP-device does not support dialing from the keyboard and has only one button for calling the concierge, it is necessary to configure this button to call the Intellect operator (see Configuring SIP operators on Intellect SIP-server).

Configuring the SIP-device connection to Intellect

The SIP-devices connection to the Intellect SIP-server is configured as follows:

  1. Create a SIP-device object based on the SIP-terminal object of the SIP-server type (1). The object settings panel will be displayed on the right side of the System Settings dialog box.
  2. From the Device type drop-down list (2), select the icon type used to display the device on the Map.

  3. In the User ID field (3), enter the SIP-device identification number, i.e. the number to call it.

  4. In the IP address field (4), enter the SIP-device IP address. If you are not going to send data to the SIP-device, this field is optional.

  5. In the Password field (5), enter the password specified on the SIP-device. The SIP-device with the specified identifier will be connected to Intellect only if the passwords on the device and in Intellect are identical.

  6. Set the Video switch (6) to the position corresponding to the video camera used for calls:

    1. Off — the video is not used during the call.

    2. SIP camera — a SIP-device camera connected via the SIP protocol is used. If the wrong device is selected by default in the Camera (7) drop-down list, change the selection. The corresponding Camera object may not be created in the Intellect objects tree at this step; in this case, it will be created automatically after clicking the Apply button (10).

    3. Other — any other camera from the Intellect hardware tree is used. In this case, select the name of the required Camera object from the Camera drop-down list (7).

  7. Set the Audio switch (8) to the position corresponding to the microphone used for calls:

    1. Off — the audio is not used during the call.

    2. On — the microphone of the SIP-device is used. If the wrong device is selected by default in the Microphone drop-down list (9), change the selection. The corresponding Microphone object may not be created in the Intellect objects tree at this step; in this case, it will be created automatically after clicking the Apply button (10).

  8. Click Apply (10).

  9. If necessary, the pre-configured missing Camera and Microphone objects (11) will be automatically created in the Intellect objects tree.

Configuring the SIP-device connection to Intellect is complete.

Configuring the tone DTMF commands

The setting of sending tone messages to a SIP device (for example, a combination for opening a door) is carried out by setting the relay.

The SIP-device relays are configured in the following order:

  1. Go to the Relay tab on the settings panel of the SIP-device object (1).
  2. Select the type from the DTMF type drop-down list (2):
    1. in_bound – the signal is transmitted as normal sound in an audio stream.
    2. rtp_nte  signals are transmitted via RTP separately from the voice stream.
    3. sip_info  signals are transmitted in the SIP INFO message.
    4. sip_info_relay  signals are transmitted in the SIP INFO message with the DTMF Relay function.
    5. sip_notify  signals are transmitted in the SIP NOTIFY message.
  3. In the Signal duration, ms field set the time period in milliseconds during wich the command is to be sent(3). This value is applied if duration is not set for a specific command.
  4. In the Name field, enter tha name of the command displayed on the SIP panel (4).
  5. In the Code field, enter the unique command code (5).
  6. In the Duration, ms field, enter the time period in milliseconds during which the command is to be sent (6).
  7. Click Apply (7).
  8. The corresponding Relay object (8) will be created in the Intellect hardware tree.

The SIP-device relay is configured.
