Purpose
SIP Panel is designed to work with SIP-devices (see Configuring SIP-devices).
Features
SIP Panel provides the following functions:
- Placing the SIP calls to numbers from the address book or dialed numbers.
- Receiving the calls from the SIP-devices.
- View the log of calls received or made using the SIP panel.
- View and/or listen to archived calls received or made using the SIP panel.
Interface description
The SIP Panel interface consists of two tabs. The Call tab allows receiving and making calls. The Archive tab lists the incoming and outcoming calls and allows the audio and/or playback of the archived calls with the corresponding controls.
See below for the description of each tab interface elements.
The number of the current SIP-operator is indicated in the upper right corner of the SIP Panel.
The Call tab
The interface of the Call tab of the SIP Panel is shown in the figure:
Address book
The address book is in the upper part of the Archive tab, it contains the numbers added for the current SIP-operator during the SIP-terminal configuration. To call a number from the address book, double-left-click on it. The dialing panel is displayed in the middle of the window.
The address book may be empty if users and/or permissions are not configured in Intellect or if current user does not correspond to any SIP-operator while the default SIP-operator is not selected (see Selecting the default SIP-operator)
Making a call
To make a call from the panel, select a number in the address book or dial the number manually, and then click on the
button to start a video+audio call, or the button for an audio call. In both cases, both video and audio are transmitted from the SIP-device, but in the second case, the video stream from the operator’s camera is not sent to the device.Note.
If camera, microphone and/or dynamic were selected for operator while configuring the system and if the SIP devise supports the corresponding function, then video and audio are transmitted to the SIP device from the operator's microphone and camera – see also Selecting speaker, microphone and camera for SIP operator.
During the call, the SIP Panel window will be displayed on top of all windows and will look like this:
The buttons at the bottom of the panel provide the call control:
Enable/disable the operator's camera.
Enable/disable the operator’s microphone.
Enable/disable the operator’s speaker.
Hold the call. A window will open with a list of all incoming calls that can be accepted/resumed using the buttons (with the video from the operator) and (without the video from the operator):
Note.
The video and sound from the SIP device continue to be received in Intellect in the Hold mode while the video and sound from the SIP operator's camera and microphone are not transmitted to the SIP device.
Calls in the list are sorted by the SIP device priority specified during the system setup (see Configuring SIP-device connection to Intellect SIP-server). If several devices have the same priority, the calls from them are sorted by arrival time. By default, new calls are added to the top of the list, however, the sorting order can be changed so that new calls are added to the end (see Configuring the SIP-panel interface object).
A call list window is displayed on top of all windows when making a call and holding a call.
Configuring SIP-device connection to Intellect SIP-server).
Display/hide the tone dialing panel. This panel allows the use of commands added while configuring the SIP device (seeEnd the call.
Note.
By default, pressing buttons on the SIP panel, a command execution and calls are accompanied by sound signals. The sound of clicking the buttons can be turned off at the stage of setting the SIP panel interface object.
If there is no answer, the call automatically ends in 30 seconds (this timeout is configurable by the CallTimeout registry key, see Registry keys reference guide).
The Archive tab
The interface of the Archive tab of the SIP Panel is shown in the figure:
Make sure to configure audio and video archiving to play archived calls (see Configuring video archiving and Configuring audio signals recording).
The table includes the following information:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Type | Call type: incoming or outcoming |
Subscriber | The subscriber number |
Name | The subscriber name |
Date and time | The call start and end time. Note. The conference calls are shown as several calls to different numbers at the same time (see Configuring numbers of Intellect's SIP-terminal for details on group calls configuration). |
Duration | The call duration |
Video and/or sound are played back when playing the archived call depending on whether the subscriber (SIP-operator or SIP-device) has camera and/or microphone configured. The operator's speaker (see Selecting speaker, microphone and camera for SIP operator) is utilized for audio playback and the Monitor selected while configuring the SIP Panel (see Configuring the SIP-panel interface object) is used to playback video.
Controls for playing archived calls are under the table:
Update the call list
Play the selected call
Pause the playback
Stop the playback
Slider to display the playback and rewind process
SIP Panel control from the Map
If the Display only when calling option was enabled during the system setup, the SIP Panel is not displayed if there are no incoming calls (see Configuring the SIP Panel interface object). In this case, you can initiate a call using a macro command, or from the Map using the Call (forward/take) command in the function menu of the SIP-device — as a result, the SIP Panel window will be displayed (see also Working with the map). Also, you can put the current call on hold or resume the call using the appropriate commands in the object menu on Map.
Note.
If there is no call, the icon of the camera assigned with the SIP device displays the Detach state, because no video from the camera is received. See Graphic objects on the Map for more information about objects icons on the Map.
