You can configure archives using the interface in the Archive tab (under Settings). To create archives you must have the appropriate permissions.
On the basis of one server you can create an unlimited number of archives.
Attention!
We do not recommend you to operate a large single volume video footage archive.
It's more practical to divide the archive to multiple volumes located on different hardware devices.
The archive can be stored:
- both on local disks and on network disks (see General information of SolidStore file system);
- in object storages, which are created via the gRPC API (see Create archive using gRPC API methods).
Features of archives:

Data from one local or network archive can be copied to other local or network archives.
You can configure archives as follows:
- Create archives (see Creating archives).
- Configure recording of the video stream from video cameras to the archives (see Configuring recording to an archive).
Configure data replication, if necessary (see Configuring data replication).
You can also connect external archives — a set of video recordings with time links.
