Getting video using ONVIF-Server module is configured in Axxon Next. Information on how to search and add IP devices to Axxon Next can be found in Axxon Next.User Guide. The latest version of this document can be found in AxxonSoft documentation repository.

After adding a camera to Axxon Next, in Intellect two ONVIF-Server Profile objects will be created under ONVIF-Server object for each camera added to the corresponding RTSP Server. These objects correspond to video streams of low and high quality in Axxon Next.

Note

If multistreaming is disabled for the camera, then the parameters of both profiles corresponding to the camera are the same. See Configuration of multistream video.

If user rights are configured in Intellect (see Configuration of users and permissions), then the login and password are to be specified in order to connect to the camera. Otherwise there is no need to specify any login or password.

If required it is possible to select the video stream in the Stream dropdown list. Available video streams are configured on the settings panel of the Camera object – see Configuration of multistream video.

When changing camera parameters in Axxon Next the corresponding changes will be applied in Intellect too. For instance, if the microphone, analytics, metadata transmission and sensor/relays are enabled in Axxon Next, then the corresponding settings are applied for the ONVIF-Server Profile object in Intellect:

  1. PTZ. PTZ object is to be created and configured in Intellect in order to control PTZ on camera connected via ONVIF-Server on the client. See PTZ configuration section in Installing and configuring security system components guide).
  2. Microphone, Audio stream. Audio card and Microphone objects are to be created and configured in Intellect in order to receive and record audio from ONVIF Server on the client. See Configuring audio acquisition from IP devices section in Installing and configuring security system components guide.
  3. Analytics, Metadata. Tracker and VMDA detection objects are to be created and configured under the corresponding Camera object in Intellect in order to receive and record metadata and analytics data from ONVIF Server on the client. See Configuring smart video detection tools. In Axxon Next the ONVIF events detection is to be created for the added camera.

Important!

Changes of the configuration of the RTSP Server object corresponding to the ONVIF Server object in Intellect will be applied in Axxon Next only after the Axxon Next Server is restarted or when the camera is deleted and added to Axxon Next again.

Besides, there are the following checkboxes on the settings panel of the ONVIF-Server Profile object:

  1. Fixed – disables deleting the profile using the driver.
  2. Multicast – enables video transmission in the multicast mode. There are some extra actions besides setting the checkbox checked:
    1. Set the registry key:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ITV\Intellect\Video\TransportProtocols
      rtsp = multicast
    2. Enable the multicast mode on the settings panel of the RTSP Server object corresponding to the ONVIF-Server object - see Configuring RTSP Server module.
