With search by LPs, you can find the recognized license plates in the archive, as well as filter them according to specified criteria.
To search by license plates, do the following:
- Set a time interval for your search (see Setting a search interval).
- Select the detector from the list (1), by which you want to search.
Enter the license plate that you want to find (2). You can enter either a full license plate or a part of it using the ? character (any character in the license plate) and the * character (any number of any characters in the license plate). For example, a search query ?20* will show all vehicles with license plate containing 2 and 0 in the second and third position, respectively. License plate can contain any number of characters.

To search by all recognized license plates, enter * (asterisk).

To search by additional criteria, the Vehicle recognition option must be enabled in the License Plate Recognition RR settings (see Configuring License Plate Recognition RR).
- Select the Vehicle class (3) from the drop-down list:
- Car;
- Truck;
- Bus;
- Motorcycle;
- Mini truck;
- Unknown.
- Vendor (4): enter full name of the car manufacturer in Latin letters, case-insensitive. Correct spelling examples: Mitsubishi, Nissan, Hyundai.
Model (5): enter full name of the car model in numbers or Latin letters, case-insensitive. Correct spelling examples: Outlander, Teana, Creta, 406 (for Peugeot 406).

- Color (6): set the color of the vehicle (see Configuring object color).
- Select the Vehicle headlights (7) state from the drop-down list:
- Unknown;
- Enabled;
- Disabled.
- Vehicle speed (8): in the From and To fields, set the vehicle speed range depending on the unit of measurement selected in the Speed detection field in the detection tool settings (see Configuring License Plate Recognition RR):
Kmph: possible range from 0 to 450.
Mph: possible range from 0 to 280.
- Vehicle direction (9): select the vehicle direction from the drop-down list:
- Unknown—the vehicle's direction is not recognized;
- Incoming—the vehicle is moving towards the camera;
Outgoing—the vehicle is moving away from the camera.

button: - Select the Vehicle class (3) from the drop-down list:
Click the Search button.
Note
Once launched, the search can be stopped at any time. To do this, click the Stop button which appears instead of the Search button.
This starts a search based on the selected criteria. The search results panel displays frames with vehicles whose numbers contain the text from the search query and also satisfy the specified additional parameters.
A recognized license plate will be highlighted with a red frame in the Surveillance window.
