To configure the People counter, do the following:

  1. Create Pose Detection (see Configuring Pose Detection).
  2. Below the Pose Detection, click Create…  People counter.

People counter counts the number of people in the specified area using the metadata of the Pose Detection.

A trigger, on the basis of which a macro can be started (see Configuring start conditions for event-driven macros), can be generated if the number of people in the frame meets the specified conditions.

Note

If necessary, you can change the detection tool parameters. The list of parameters is given in the table:

Number of measurements in a row to trigger detection

Specify the minimum number of frames with the set number of people for the detection tool to trigger. The value must be in the range [1, 20].
The recommended (default) value is 2.
Increasing the value can help eliminate false alarms, but increases the risk of skips. 
Decreasing the value can help reduce skips, but increases the probability of false alarms

Start value of alarm range settings5Specify the range of the number of people in the frame. The value must be in the range [0, 100]

In the preview window, you can specify the areas for detection using the anchor points (see Configuring the Detection Zone). By default, the entire frame is the area for detection.

Note

  • For convenience of configuration, you can "freeze" the frame. Click the button. To cancel the action, click this button again.
  • The area for detection is displayed by default. To hide it, click the button. To cancel the action, click this button again.

To save the parameters of the detection tool, click the Apply  button. To cancel the changes, click the Cancel  button.

In the Surveillance window on the layout next to the counter icon, you can add text and the number of people counted by the detection tool (see Displaying the number of detected objects).
