The PTZ object is displayed in the object tree as a child object to the camera if it is a PTZ camera.
To configure the PTZ device of the camera, do the following:
- Go to the Devices tab.
- Select the PTZ object in the object tree. If necessary, you can change the values of the parameters that are listed in the table:

This parameter is available only for the devices that support Absolute Positioning.
No Switch interval 1 Specify the time interval in seconds at which the PTZ device switches between the presets in the patrol mode. Depending on the camera, you can find other parameters in the Other group. To configure them, refer to their description in the interface or in the official documentation.
Discrete control via continuous control Yes By default, the parameter is disabled. If you need to use the step buttons to control the PTZ camera even if the camera doesn't support this mode, select the Yes value (see Control using step buttons and virtual joystick). In this case, the discrete PTZ control is emulated via the continuous control commands No Home preset 0 Select the home preset by specifying the required identifier Home preset timeout 0 The return to the home preset is performed automatically after the time specified in the parameter
Attention!
If the Home preset timeout value is greater than the Operator idle time value (see Configuring PTZ control), the Operator idle time value is used.
Multiple control Yes By default, the parameter is enabled, which allows multiple users with the same priority to control the PTZ device at the same time. To disable multiple control, select the No value. In this case only one user at a time can have control (see Controlling a PTZ сamera)
No New PTZ interface Yes By default, the parameter is disabled. To use the existing presets on the device in Axxon One, select the Yes value. The presets created on the device automatically appear in the PTZ control panel

If the use of the existing presets is disabled, they can be lost if the following conditions are met:
- In Axxon One, the recording of the presets to the device is enabled in the Use device presets parameter.
- The preset with the same ID is created in Axxon One (see Creating and editing presets).
No Patrol speed 100 Specify the transition speed from one preset to another in conditional units from 0 to 100 Use device presets Yes By default, the parameter is disabled. To create the presets with the same ID in Axxon One (see Creating and editing presets), select the Yes value No Camera Camera {Short name.Name} If necessary, select the camera to which this PTZ device must be assigned (see Camera). As a result, the object becomes a child object to the selected camera
- Click the Apply button.
As a result, the PTZ device is switched to the specified operating mode.
To check the operation of the PTZ device, click the Test button. If the PTZ device is configured correctly, it turns one step and returns to its original position.
