Replication of the archive data refers to the copying of fixed-size blocks of information (video, audio, metadata) from one archive to another within the same Axxon-domain. The primary purpose of data replication is to ensure long-term storage and access to multimedia data on remote storage devices. Every archive can be both the sender and receiver of data.
Replication is performed as blocks of information accumulate and only to the end of the archive. Blocks of information can be replicated to any part of the archive in the object archive. To transfer the old data from Archive 1 to Archive 2 and continue recording new data to Archive 2, do the following:
The events indicating the start and successful completion of data replication are generated in the system (see Event control). These events can be used in macros (see Programming). |
To configure data replication, do the following:
Select one or more archives from which you want to copy data. You can also replicate video from the embedded camera storage (see Embedded storage).
In the Replication period parameter, select the replication period:
Always—replication is performed continuously.
On demand—replication is started manually or using macros (see Manual archive replication, Start replication).

In the Cameras for replication parameter, for each archive, select cameras from which data are copied to the replication archive. To select all cameras, click the Select all button.

Configuring data replication is complete. If the replication period is set to Always, data replication starts immediately after the settings are applied.
