Purpose of the document

User guide contains the information necessary for building, implementing, and operating a security system based on Axxon One. The document is structured in such a way that the user can:

• Quickly look at the capabilities of the software.
• Select sections of interest based on their level of experience.
• Get both a general overview of the system and detailed step-by-step instructions.

The sections are for reference and have an independent internal structure.

User guide includes a detailed description of the installation, configuration, and operation of Axxon One in the Windows OS environment. For the installation and configuration in Linux OS, see Linux OS Administrator's guide.

Contents of the sections

• Description of Axxon One—Contains general information about the purpose, technical characteristics, and functionality of the software, as well as the stages of building a security system.
• Axxon One installation—Recommendations for the administrator on installing software and configuring hardware.
• Activation guide—Guide to register and activate a license.
• Start and stop Axxon One—Description of procedures for starting and stopping the software.
• Configuration management—Step-by-step manuals for configuring hardware, archives, detectors, macros, users, and activating functional modules. This section is useful for both administrators and operators with the appropriate permissions.
• Layouts—Description of the interface of layouts, video surveillance modes, and basic functionality.
• Axxon One utilities—Description of additional software tools.
• Appendices—Glossary of terms and a list of possible problems when operating the system.
