Functions of the Equipment detector (PPE)

Description

Equipment detector (PPE) is used to automatically monitor compliance with work health and safety requirements. The detector analyzes video streams and identifies violations related to the absence or improper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Attention!

We recommend using the detector in "gateway" conditions: at the entrance to the area where the equipment or PPE is required, an employee stops for 5–10 seconds, during which the detector determines the presence of the necessary equipment (see Configuring the Equipment detector (PPE)).

Neural networks

For detector operation, at least two neural networks are used:

Segmentation neural network divides the human body into segments: head, shoulders, arms, hands, body, thighs, legs, and feet.
Сlassification neural network detects equipment (PPE) on a specified body part and checks if it's properly applied.

Attention!

By default, the detector uses an embedded classification neural network that is trained to recognize only helmets and vests of the following colors:

A classification neural network can be trained to recognize equipment and personal protective equipment used at a facility (see Provide a list of valid equipment at the facility to train a neural network for the Equipment detector (PPE)).

For the Equipment detector (PPe) to work, you must install Neuro Pack add-on (see Installing DetectorPack add-ons)
