Purpose

The main control panel is a basic element of the Axxon PSIM control interface.

Functions

The main control panel provides access to the following software functions:

  1. System startup and shutdown;
  2. Software configuration;
  3. Control of the interface windows display;
  4. Display of service messages;
  5. Manual macro execution;
  6. Display of the information on the current software version.

Interface description

The main control panel is located in the top right corner of the screen.

When inactive, the panel is automatically removed from the screen. To return it, simply hover your mouse cursor over the top right corner, then the main program control panel appears on the screen.
Interface elements of the main control panel are described below.

  1. Information window. The information window is used for prompts on software operation and error messages. If Axxon PSIM operates in the demo mode, then the corresponding message is displayed in the window.

    If Axxon PSIM runs with a user logged in, the user's last name is displayed in the information window.

    Messages in the information window replace each other at a specified frequency.
  2. The Interfaces button . It is used to select and display interface windows on the desktop. The Close all item hides all visible software windows.
    The appearance of the display list can differ depending on the number of displays. If there are more than 50, in addition to changing the appearance, it becomes possible to scroll the display list with the mouse wheel.
    You can change the threshold value of the number of displays using the max_disp_menu_items registry key (see Registry keys reference guide). On the figures below, see the list of displays with max_disp_menu_items = 10 and the number of displays 10 and 11, respectively.

    There are 10 displays in the list, so mouse scroll is not availableThere are 11 displays in the list, so mouse scroll is available if the list size exceeds the size of the computer monitor

    You can also limit the number of displays assigned to one computer (default number is 500) using the DISPLAY_MAX_NUM registry key. In this case, when more displays are assigned to the computer than allowed by the key, some of the displays are marked with > N in the list, where N is the maximum number of displays; the error message is displayed when such a display is selected:

  3. The Run button . Provides access to various control functions: startup, logging out, software settings, manual start of macros, display of the debug windows, and display of the information on the current software version.

Description of the key combinations that are used when working with the main control panel is given in the table below.
