You can edit the mask of the detector using the function menu of the surveillance window. To edit the mask, select Processing in the menu.

To enter the mask editing mode, select a detector in the Detector mask submenu. The first detector in the list is the main motion detector (the Main item), followed by additional motion detectors. If there is only one main motion detector present, the submenu for selecting detectors doesn't appear. The Detector mask item is displayed instead.

Note

You cannot access the archive in the mask editing mode. And you cannot access mask editing mode in the archive viewing mode.

After you enable masking, a black cross appears in the center of the video image. You can move this cross up and down the image using the up and down keys on the keyboard.

Masks are applied as rectangular areas. To apply a mask, use the left mouse button: select a point on the screen, press the left mouse button, and, without releasing the button, draw a rectangle. The resulting mask area will be filled with black dots.

Note

If after applying the mask you press the Enter key on the keyboard, the mode is enabled in which editing and deleting masks is impossible. In this case, the cross in the center of the video turns white. To exit this mode, press the Esc key.

No detection is performed within the masked area.

You can remove the mask in a similar way. To do this, select a point in the surveillance window, right-click, and, without releasing the mouse button, draw a rectangle. The resulting rectangular area will be cleared of the mask, if present.

To exit the mask editing mode, go to Processing → Detector mask.

Note

When you exit the mask editing mode, the dotted rectangles of the masked area disappear. However, the masked areas remain functional—no detection is performed within them.
