This section provides information on the basic administered user functions of the distributed digital video and audio surveillance system based on Axxon PSIM.

Axxon PSIM provides the following basic user functions:

Video surveillance functionality

  1. Simultaneous display of the images from several cameras (belonging to one or several servers) on the video surveillance monitor on a single computer screen (display).
  2. Priority-oriented automatic selection of the displayed video images from alarm or active cameras (using a special video surveillance monitor with video images from the cameras according to the set parameters).
  3. Change the number of surveillance windows and their layout on the video surveillance monitor.
  4. Display of the zoomed-in image from the selected camera (surveillance window) displayed on the video surveillance monitor and the surveillance window slideshow option for the selected camera.
  5. Color coding of the surveillance window (camera) state: Armed, Alarm, Recording, and so on.
  6. Remote access to audiovisual streams from any workstation with both local and remote archive recording option.
  7. Video recording can be performed:
    1. continuously;
    2. in real-time according to the set events;
    3. on alarm with a pre-event recording option or by the operator’s command.
  8. Pre-event video recording.
  9. Display of the freeze frame on the operator’s command without interruption of the recording.
  10. Display of the service information on the video surveillance monitor:
    1. current time;
    2. current date;
    3. camera number, ID.
  11. Recording on operator’s command.
  12. Viewing of the video images from cameras.
  13. Priority viewing of the video images from cameras based on events (alarms) detection.
  14. Video surveillance using the web interface and mobile apps.
  15. Audio and video archive management.
  16. Viewing of the recorded videos with the possibility to search the archive by time, event, and camera.
  17. Synchronized playback of the recorded videos from several cameras.
  18. Timing of the archived videos.
  19. Timestamp-based video search.
  20. Video image processing:
    1. digital zooming;
    2. contrasting;
    3. focusing;
    4. masking;
    5. dynamic outlining.
  21. Management of the actuating devices using:
    1. the interface panel of the 3rd party developer;
    2. the universal control panel for the actuating devices management;
    3. a mouse;
    4. a joystick.
  22. Viewing video information from all servers included in the system on any workstation using the TCP/IP communication environment.
  23. Storage and export of video frames and video recordings.
  24. Integrated use of multi-zone detectors of various types:
    1. Main motion detector;
    2. Motion;
    3. Focusing;
    4. Video signal stability;
    5. Changes in the video image background;
    6. Light-struck camera lens;
    7. Closing camera lens;
    8. Infrared.
  25. Masking of detector area(s).
  26. Image deinterlacing.
  27. Output of analog video signal.

Audio monitoring functionality

  1. Audio surveillance.
  2. Synchronous recording of video and audio.
  3. Sound-activated audio recording.
  4. Audio recording on operator’s command.
  5. Export of audio recordings.

Functionality for structuring protected facilities

  1. Conditional subdivision of the protected facility into areas and sections.
  2. Use of the multilevel (multilayered) interactive map of the protected facility, which implements the following functions:
    1. Auto switching and recursive search for links on the map (layers).
    2. Using the active device icons on the map (layers) with the possibility to manage the devices from the function menu.

Event registration and processing functionality

  1. Maintenance of the event viewer that displays all registered events or events of certain types according to the preconfigured filters. It is possible to display the corresponding video or a map with the object for each event.
  2. Event management and processing according to the configurable scripts using the operator protocol and incidents manager.

Notification functionality

Auto notification using:

  1. SMS (Short Message Service).
  2. Emails.
  3. V-dial auto redial service.
  4. Sound (voice) notification.
  5. Telegram bot.

Workability control functionality

  1. Software control of workability—the System restart service object.
  2. Hardware control of workability—Watchdog.
  3. Failover: in case of the connection loss to one of the servers of the distributed system, the configuration is automatically moved to the backup server.

Automatic management functionality

Implementation of the user-specific functions (performed according to the individual algorithms) using macros.

Access control functionality

Flexible configuration of the access levels to the system components and the possibility to manage administrator rights.

Functionality for integration of the distributed video surveillance and audio monitoring system

  1. Remote interaction of the software cores and automated replication of the internal databases (containing the system setup parameters and the data on the events registered in the system) between servers and remote workstations that are the components of the distributed digital video surveillance system.
  2. Creating the integrated database of the system setup parameters and the registered events, followed by their processing in compliance with the standards and the specialized adjustable algorithms, including generation of notifications and system responses.
  3. Software-programmable optimization of the video data flows within the distributed digital video surveillance system when there is a lack of communication channel capacity (optional videogate functionality).
