The internal server database contains the following information:

  1. Information about the system settings (about objects created in the system, their attributes, users and user rights, and other additional data).
  2. Information about the events registered by the system within the period specified at the system configuration stage (event viewer).

The internal server database is maintained in the MS SQL format. The list of MS SQL Server versions supported by Axxon PSIM is given in the table below.

Note

By default, a free version of MS SQL Server 2022 is installed with Axxon PSIM. For information about the technical features and limitations of the free version, see https://www.microsoft.com.

Note

If an error occurs while you are installing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express, try to download the corresponding installation kit from https://www.microsoft.com and install it manually.

Attention!

If the maximum database memory capacity is exceeded (when you use MS SQL Server editions with memory limitations), stable operation of Axxon PSIM is not guaranteed.

Information about the objects, settings of the digital video surveillance and audio monitoring system, and event viewer can be automatically replicated from the server database to the databases of all other servers of the system. Communication between full-featured software kernels of the Axxon PSIM system is supported by the TCP/IP environment (if information exchange is provided between software kernels defined during system configuration).

Information about system objects and their settings is initially stored in the database of the server to which the objects belong. Replication is initiated automatically when data is changed, the kernel is launched, or communication is restored.

Replication is used to create a common event environment within the distributed digital video surveillance system. The replication process is hidden from the user.
