You can start Axxon PSIM in one of the following ways:

  1. Manually:
    1. From the Windows Start menu.
    2. From the Windows command line.
  2. Automatically:
    1. Using the Windows Startup feature.
    2. When turning on the computer without starting the Windows shell.

Manual start of Axxon PSIM does not require additional settings. Automatic start of Axxon PSIM using one of the above methods requires certain additional Windows OS settings. Windows OS settings are given in the corresponding sections of this chapter.

If the video surveillance system uses pre-defined rights and authorizations for the users, user authorization is mandatory when starting Axxon PSIM. Depending on the Axxon PSIM system settings, the following user authorization options are available:

  1. By entering a login and password. In this case, when the system is launched, the user will be able to access only those functions of Axxon PSIM that correspond to their rights and permissions.
  2. Without entering a login and password. In this case, Axxon PSIM makes available only those functions that correspond to the rights and authorities of the default user.

By default, By default, user authentication in Axxon PSIM is performed by entering a password. To start Axxon PSIM without a password, you must specify a user whose default rights and permissions will be used to start Axxon PSIM. The procedure for setting a default user is described in Rights administration.

Note

If Axxon PSIM is installed as a service and a user rights and permissions system is used, but a default user isn't set, after you start Axxon PSIM, you must log in using the user password. Otherwise, the Axxon PSIM modules and services will not start.
