The basic function of the remote client is receiving video and audio signals from the servers of the video surveillance system, viewing videos, listening to audio, and managing cameras, microphones, and PTZ devices by using various components of the operator's user interface (video surveillance monitor, audio player, map, PTZ window, and so on).

To configure the remote client:

  1. Register the Computer object, which corresponds to the remote client, on the administration server and set the interaction parameters with the servers, remote administrator’s workstations, and the remote clients of the distributed video surveillance system (see Configuring Axxon PSIM with distributed architecture of the digital video surveillance system).
  2. Configure the user interface. To do this, create display(s), configure the access to them using the remote client, and place the user interface components on the displays: video surveillance monitor, audio player, map, and so on (see Configuring the user interface).

Note

When you start the remote client, it connects to one selected server by default.

You can use the tweaki.exe utility to configure server selection from a drop-down list of the most recently used IP addresses for connection:
