You can use the Change parameter function for the group value change of the Axxon PSIM object parameters in the database. To use this function, you must know the structure of the Axxon PSIM database. We don't recommend using this function for beginning users.

Note

The Change parameter function may not be displayed in the context menu if its display is disabled by the GlobalParamChange=0 parameter of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AxxonSoft\PSIM\ registry key (see Registry keys reference guide).

After you select the Change parameter function in the context menu of the system object, the Change parameter window opens.

The order of making changes:

  1. From the Object drop-down list, select the type of system objects, the parameter of which you want to change. Only the objects that are children of the object, the context menu of which is used to open the window, are available in the list. To change the parameters of the Computer object, select the Change parameter item in the context menu that opens when you right-click the area that isn't occupied by the objects of the Axxon PSIM objects tree.
  2. From the Parameter drop-down list, select the name of the object parameter in the Axxon PSIM database.

    Attention!

The parameter is changed for all objects of the selected type in the distributed configuration.

  3. In the Value field, specify the new parameter value in the format in which it is recorded in the database. You can find out the parameter data type by using the ddi.exe utility (see Editing main.dbi and main.ext.dbi templates of the main database using the ddi.exe utility). You can find out the format of the parameter when viewing the Axxon PSIM database (see Viewing Axxon PSIM database).
  4. By default, the parameter changes only for child objects relative to the object selected in the tree at this time (for example, if the checkbox is set, the parameter changes only on the computer that is selected in the tree). If you want to change the parameter for all objects in the system, set the Globally checkbox.
  5. Click the Apply button.

Example. You must switch all cameras in the system to the black-and-white display mode.

In this case, do the following:

  1. Open the Change parameter window from the context menu of the Video capture device or the Computer object.
  2. Fill in the fields in the Change parameter window as shown in the figure.
  3. Set the Globally checkbox.
  4. Click the Apply button.
