Working with the index.exe utility

To reindex the archive files after you change it (for example, after copying new video recordings to one or several archive disks), do the following:

1. Start the index.exe utility (see Starting and shutting down the index.exe utility).
2. In the window that opens, select archive disks for reindexing by setting the checkboxes next to the required disks (1).
   
   

   Note

   The utility displays all available system disks, including the mounted network ones. The unmounted network disks selected for video archive recording in Axxon PSIM aren't displayed.

3. To select all disks for video archives reindexing, set the Select all checkbox (2).

4. To start reindexing, click the Start button (3).
   The reindexing process is displayed in the field (4).
   

   Note

   During reindexing, all elements of the utility window are inactive.

5. When the process is complete, close the utility window by clicking the button.

Reindexing of archive files is complete.

To reindex archive files without using the dialog window, in the command line, start the index_fs.exe utility with parameters.

Examples:

• index_fs --drives=C:\,E:\,\\172.19.2.77\VIDEO—reindex video archive files on the specified disks.
  

  Note

  \\IP address of the network disk\the folder name of the video archive is used to specify the network disk.

• index_fs --drives=all—reindex all disks used for the archive storage.
• index_fs --help—displays the short guide of the applied parameters.
