Documentation for Monitoring PSIM 2.0 (english)

Previous page Next page

The list of cameras specified on the settings panel of the Partition Of Control object determines the cameras whose archive and video can be accessed through the Monitoring PSIM interface objects (see Monitoring PSIM Software Package: Operator's Guide). In addition, this list determines the cameras whose state and archives are monitored by Agent of Control.

Depending on whether the list of cameras is specified or not, the following situations are possible:

  1. If you specify cameras in the list, Agent of Control works in normal mode, that is, monitors the state of cameras and their archives. Server of Control receives the information about the number of cameras, disks, disk volume, and so on.
  2. If you don't specify cameras in the list, Agent of Control checks the presence of the Backup archive object in the system and gets the information about disks from this object. In this case, Server of Control receives the information only about the disks marked in the Backup archive object. Access to the archive from the Search in archive interface object isn't performed.
  3. If you don't specify cameras in the Agent of Control settings and the Backup archive object is absent in the configuration, the information about disks is taken from the Computer object, considering the disks specified for the main archive storage. Access to the archive from the Search in archive interface object isn't performed.

In the second and third cases, the monitoring of the system state (availability of connection, restarts, and so on) and disks (their number and free space) is performed. The state of cameras and their archives isn't available for monitoring.

Note

For information on how to create and configure the Backup archive object, see Axxon PSIM Software Package: Administrator's Guide.

To configure the list of used cameras, do the following:

  1. Go to the settings panel of the Partition Of Control object.
  2. Click the Cameras... button (1). The Add/Edit cameras window opens.
  3. Move the required cameras from the left list to the right list by using the and buttons (1).
  4. Select cameras in the list on the right.
  5. In the Keep archive for (days) field (2), specify the storage time of the video archive in days in the range from 0 to 999. If the value of the parameter is 0, the size of the archive isn't monitored.
  6. In the Gaps in the archive (days) field (3), specify the number of days on which the video archive isn't recorded, since non-working days are taken into account in the working schedule.

  7. In the Camera connection date field (4), specify the camera connection date to the system.

  8. Click the Set for selected cameras listed on the right button (5).

  9. Click the Apply changes and close button (6). The selected cameras are added to the list on the settings panel of the Partition Of Control object.
  10. Click the Apply button on the settings panel of the Partition Of Control object.

Note

The IDs of cameras and captioners must be integers.

Note

Cameras are automatically removed from the list if you remove the Camera object and its parent Video capture device object from the Axxon PSIM hardware list.

All camera settings are saved, and the information about camera disconnection is transferred to Server of Control if:

  • the Camera object or its Video capture device parent object is set to the Disabled mode;
  • in the distributed configuration, the Camera object is moved to the Video capture device object located on another computer;
  • in the distributed configuration, the Video capture device object, to which the camera belongs, is moved to another computer.

Configuring the camera list is complete.
