Previous page Setting up the position of the Map on the screen  Configuring the external Map server Next page

You can place several graphical plans of protected facilities in one window of the interactive map. Each graphical plan is represented by the Layer object.

Create and configure the Layer object as follows:

  1. Go to the Interfaces tab of the System settings dialog window (1).
  2. Create the Layer object on the basis of the Map object or select the existing Layer object in the objects tree (2).
  3. Specify the ID and name of the Layer object, and select the Map object on the basis of which you want to create the Layer object (3).
  4. To edit the graphical plan of the protected facility, click the Edit layer button (4). The Map editor utility will open, in which you can edit the graphical plan of the protected facility (layer).

    Note

When the Map editor utility is started, the System settings dialog window is inactive. Close the Map editor utility to continue working with the System settings dialog window.
You cannot start the Map editor utility for several layers.
  5. To display this layer on top of all other layers, click the Activate on map button (5).
  6. To save all changes, click the Apply button (6).

After you create and configure a new layer, you must attach a graphical plan of the protected facility to the created layer, select the background color for the layer, or select a map server to be used as a background for an external map. These types of backgrounds are mutually exclusive, you can select only one of them. For example, if you select a file or an external map, the background color will not be applied.

Attach the graphical plan of the protected facility or select the background color as follows:

  1. Go to the settings panel of the Layer object.
  2. Open the Map editor utility and click the Edit layer button.

    Note

The Map editor utility allows you to select the plan of the protected facility, create the devices icons and place them on the map, as well as other settings.

  3. In the main menu of the Map editor utility, select Map General settings.

As a result, the dialog window will open, in which you can select a graphical file used as a plan of the protected facility.

You can open the panel for attaching a graphical plan of the protected facility from the context menu of the map window by selecting the Set background item.

  4. Select the graphical file as a background as follows:

    1. Click the  button in the Settings dialog window.

As a result, the standard dialog window for selecting files will open:

Select the required file in the window and click the Open button. You can use a bmp, gif, jpeg, jpg, png, tiff, emf or svg file.
After you select the background file, it will be copied to the Bmp folder in the Axxon PSIM installation directory.

      Attention!

For the correct operation of the interactive map in the distributed configuration, the Bmp folders must be synchronized on all computers in the distributed system. The folders are synchronized automatically. For this you need to start the Client as an Administrator.
    2. In the Width and Height fields, specify the resolution of the selected file in pixels. The values specified in the Width and Height fields must correspond to the real resolution of the selected file.

  5. Select the layer background as follows:

    1.  In the Settings dialog window, clear the File field.

    2. From the Background color drop-down list, select the background color.

      Note

The background color will be applied only after you close the Map editor utility window and opening it again.

  6. To select an external map as a background, select the previously created and configured Map Server object from the Background server drop-down list (see Configuring the external Map server).

    Note

If you select an external map as a background, the layer is automatically binded to the geographical coordinates (see Configuring map binding to coordinate grid).

  7. To apply all changes, click the OK button in the Settings dialog window.

The Map editor utility will display a new graphical plan of the protected facility.
