Documentation for Intellect 4.10.4. Documentation for other versions of Intellect is available too.
It is possible to set the following parameters of the Monitor interface box:
- Window position.
- Window size.
- Toolbar (only in the List mode of camera’s windows displaying - see Configuring the display mode for camera boxes section).
- Enable and disable displaying the number, name, time, menu and camera frame as well as additional info on the camera in the Surveillance window on the Video surveillance monitor.
To set the parameters of the Monitor interface box, do the following:
- Go to the settings panel for the Monitor interface object.
- In the Monitor drop-down list select the monitor number in the operating system for which coordinates are to be set further (1).
- Set coordinates of the left upper corner of the Monitor interface box: fields X (horizontal indent from the left edge of the image) and Y (vertical indent from the upper edge of the image) (2). Coordinates are set in percentage relative to the screen size horizontally and vertically correspondingly.
- Set the dimensions of the Monitor interface box: W (window’s width) and H (window’s height) fields (3). Sizes are set in percentage relative to the screen size horizontally and vertically correspondingly.
To display a toolbar in the Monitor interface box the List group is to be switched in the Basic settings tab and the Control panel check box is to be set (4).
Note.
If the toolsbar is on, window’s height H is automatically equal to the window’s width W. The ability to set width less than 20% is also disabled in this case: such setting is saved but not applied. If moving the Monitor interface box is to be enabled, set the Allow moving check box (5).
Note.
This setting is relevant only when the toolbar is in use.In the horizontal: and vertical: fields of the Quad splitter group enter the number of video surveillance windows which will be displayed in the Monitor in horizontal and vertical directions correspondingly (6). If one of these values is not specified then default grid of video surveillance windows depending on the selected layout is displayed on the Monitor.
Note.
The maximum number of surveillance windows in horizontal and vertical directions is 64.
Note.
Fields in the Quad splitter group are inactive if the Alarm cameras mode is selected (see the Configuring the display mode for camera boxes section).
If one wants to save the ratio of the width and height of the video coming from the camera when displaying in the Surveillance window, then set the Keep camera ratio checkbox checked box on the Basic settings tab (7). If the checkbox is set checked, there may be some empty space in the Surveillance window. If the checkbox is set unchecked, the video fits the entire area of the Surveillance window while the ratio may be affected.
Note
Necessity to use other window proportions can occur while working with widescreen monitors, monitors of portrait orientation or in any other cases. The Monitor<monitor_id>_cw, monitor<monitor_id>_ch, monitor<monitor_id>_w43, monitor<monitor_id>_h43 registry keys are used in these cases. Detailed information about these registry keys is given in the Registry keys reference guide.
Set the Smoothing checkbox to display video with greater resolution on which the ladder effect appears while displaying in the small window (8).
Note.
When using the smoothing function, the load on the CPU of the computer where the video is displayed increases significantly (up to 30%). As a result, if the computer does not have enough resources to use this function, the video display speed (fps) decreases, the response to telemetry commands slows down, etc. So, this setting is recommended only for displaying video from analog cameras or low-resolution video.
The function affects only displaying the video in the Video surveillance monitor. The original video stream from the camera is streamed to the archive and to detection tools.

By default all elements of the Surveillance window (such as number, name, time, menu and camera frame, additional info on the camera as well as the name of video surveillance monitor ) are displayed. To disable displaying these elements set the corresponding checkboxes unchecked (9).
Note.
These parameters were set using ShowName, ShowTime, ShowTitle, ShowBorder, ShowButtons and ShowID registry keys (see Registry keys reference guide) until Intellect version 4.10.1.
The date can be displayed on the video next to the camera time if the ShowDate registry key is set.
- To save all the changes click the Apply button (10).
The parameters of the Monitor interface box are now set.
