Requirements for BIOS configuration

For the performance of Intellect, especially for video decoding, the frequency of the processor is important. The higher the frequency, the higher the performance of Intellect on a given platform.

On modern computers, the energy saving mode is activated in BIOS by default. Using this mode on multiprocessor systems leads to a partial load of CPU cores and reduces the performance of the I/O subsystem.

For better performance of Intellect, you must configure the computer BIOS as follows:

Different manufacturers of motherboards call these technologies differently. So, for each specific motherboard model, you must always check the documentation for that model to find out the name of the technology.

Enable	E-Cores	To get the calculation results with the actual load
Disable	Turbo Boost	The clock rate and displayed CPU load can vary from server to server depending on the cooling system
	Hyper-Treading	Uneven load of processor cores
	Intel Speed Shift	To keep the processor clock from dropping below the base clock
	Enhanced Intel SpeedStep (EIST)	Reduces the operating clock of the CPU
	Energy saving	To keep the processor clock from dropping below the base clock
	Smart throttling	Abrupt reset of processor clock
