Previous page Disabling automatic recording upon alarm registration  Configuring video in the Hot record mode Next page

By default, video is recorded to the archive with the same frame rate as the video capture card digitizes it. Thus, to reduce the archive size, the frame rate can be configured.

Note.

The reduction of the video recording frame rate does not affect the displaying of the video on the Server monitor and its transmission to the Remote Workstations by the network.

To change the recording frame rate, do the following:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab in the System settings dialog box (1).
  2. Select the Camera object corresponding to the required camera in the objects tree (2). The settings panel for the selected object is displayed on the right of the Hardware tab.
  3. Go to the Basic settings tab on the settings panel of the Camera object (3).
  4. Specify the recording frame rate value in the Recording frame rate field (4). The value is not to exceed the digitization frame rate value. The value set for the Recording frame rate parameter allows calculating the interval (msec) in which a frame is to be captured to be stored in the archive. The calculation is made according to the formula:
Interval = 1000 / Value in the Recording frame rate field

    Note.

Setting the value of the Recording frame rate parameter, take account of video digitizing rate and frame rate (fps), otherwise actual recording speed can differ from the set one.
  5. Click the Apply button (5).
