Basic video detection tools provide automatic video image analysis to recognize events occurring within the observed scene. Event recognition capabilities depend on the type of detection tool.
In Axxon PSIM software several types of basic detection tools are available:
The following basic detection tools may be applied as sabotage detections: focusing, background change, camera blinding and/or camera covering.
By default, Axxon PSIM software uses solely the main motion detection tool, which detects the video surveillance camera alarms. The rest of detection tools are optionally activated in the course of Axxon PSIM software administration.
To configure basic detection tools, set up the program algorithms for them, enable auto recording on detection tool alarm option etc.
To activate Main detection tool, arm the corresponding camera (see Camera arming and disarming). To activate basic detection tools, arm the corresponding detection zone (see Use of video detection tools).
Important!
The basic detection tools process key frames only (for codecs with interframe compression). If detection tool configuration as described above does not result in the proper detection tool operation and the detection tool does not trigger or triggers with a delay, it is recommended to reduce key frame rate for video camera (see Configuring video compression) or video analytics stream if the camera has multiple streams (see Configuration of multistream video).
For the MJPEG codec, the number of frames per second processed by the main motion detector is set using the DetectionFps registry key (see Registry Keys Reference Guide). This registry key also affects grooming for the H264 codec (key frames only).
