The internal video Server database contains the following information:

  1. system settings (objects created in the system, their attributes, users and user rights and other additional data);
  2. events registered by the system within the period specified at the system configuration stage (event logs).

The internal video Server database is maintained in the MS SQL format. The list of MS SQL Server versions, supported by Axxon PSIM, is given in the table below.

Note.

Free of charge version MS SQL Server 2014 Express (SP3) is installed with Axxon PSIM software on default. To get information about technical features and limitations of free version see https://www.microsoft.com.

Note.

If an error occurs while installing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express, try to download the corresponding installation kit from https://www.microsoft.com and install manually.

Attention!

While exceeding maximum database memory capacity (when MS SQL Server edition with memory capacity is used) there is no guarantee of stable operation for Axxon PSIM™.

Information about the objects, settings of the digital video surveillance and audio monitoring system and event logs can be automatically replicated from the video Server database to the databases of all other video Servers of the system. Communication between full featured program kernels of Axxon PSIM system is supported by the TCP/IP environment (if the system configuration defines certain program kernels, between which communication is to be provided).

Information about system objects and their settings is initially stored to the database of the video Server where the objects belong to. Replication is initiated automatically whenever data is changed, the kernel is launched or communication is restored.

Replication is used to create a common event environment within the distributed digital video surveillance system. Replication is a hidden process for the user.
