The Detection zone object is used to register and configure intelligent video detectors. The settings panel of the Detection zone object is shown in the figure.
Table describes the parameters of the settings corresponding to the elements of the settings panel of the Detection zone object.

Number of characters—from 1 to 60 |
| Disable | Set the checkbox | Sets the state of the Detection zone object (enabled or disabled) in the digital video surveillance system with the distributed architecture | Boolean type | Clear | Set—the Detection zone is disabled and isn't used Clear—the Detection zone object is enabled and is used |
| Camera | Select the value from the list | Sets the Camera parent object of the digital video surveillance system with the distributed architecture, to which the given Detection zone object belongs | Name of the Camera objects registered in the system | Name of the Camera parent object | Depends on the number of the Camera objects in the digital video surveillance system with the distributed architecture |
| Detection | Select the value from the list | Used to set the type of the used detector | List of names of the detectors in the system | Motions | Motion Focus Stability Background change Blind Cover Infrared |
| Show | Set the checkbox | Sets the display of the frame border of an object in the camera field of view This parameter is active only with the following detectors are selected from the Detection list: motion, infrared. | Boolean type | Clear | Set—the object frame border is displayed in the camera field of view Clear—the object frame border is not displayed in the camera field of view |
| Alarm | Set the checkbox | Enables alarm generation on camera and automated recording of the video signal from the camera with the alarm received from the selected detector | Boolean type | Clear | Set—on alarm received from the selected detector, an alarm is generated on the camera and automated recording of the video signal is performed Clear—alarm is not generated on the camera and automated recording of the video signal is not performed on the alarm received from the selected detector |
| Armed always | Set the checkbox | Sets the state of the selected detector as Always armed permanently | Boolean type | Clear | Set—the detector is always in the Always armed state Clear—the Operator can disarm the detector |
| Sensitivity | Set the slider in the required position | The setting depends on the type of the selected detector: Motion detection tool The value of this parameter corresponds to the minimum value of the averaged brightness of the moving object, at which the detection tool will trigger only at its motion, and not at the video signal noise (including snow, rain, etc.). The HIGHER the sensitivity value, the more sensitive the detection tool is. Focus detection tool Stability detection tool The value of this parameter characterizes the minimum degree of reduction in the resolution of the frame, expressed in the difference between the average number of outlines and the number of outlines in the incoming frame at which the detection tool should trigger. Background change detection tool This parameter characterizes the deviation of the integral brightness of the frame from the average value at which the detection tool should trigger. Blind detection tool This parameter corresponds to the rate of illumination of the video expressed in the difference between the positions of medians of the brightness chart of the incoming frame and the reference illumination frame at which the detection tool should trigger. Cover detection tool This parameter corresponds to the rate of narrowing of the brightness chart of the frame, i.e. estimation of the frame filling with gray color, at which the detection tool should trigger. Infrared detection tool The value of this parameter corresponds to the minimum value of the averaged brightness of the moving object, at which the detection tool will trigger at its motion | - | Average | - |
| Contrast | Set the slider in the required position | Sets the minimum contrast of the object at which the detection tool triggers at its motion. The HIGHER the specified contrast value, the more different the neighboring b/w elements should be, so that the detection tool considers them as different objects. It is not applicable for all detector types | - | Average | - |
| Filter | Set the slider in the required position | The setting depends on the type of the selected detector: Motion detection tool, Infrared detection tool The value of this parameter corresponds to the threshold of color processing of objects, at which the detection tool should trigger. The HIGHER the filtering, the more different the neighboring elements (pixels) of the image should be, so that the detection tool considers them as different objects. Background change detection tool, Stability detection tool The value of this parameter corresponds to the contrast threshold of the detected object. It is not applicable for all detector types | - | Minimum | - |
| Size | Set the slider in the required position | The setting depends on the type of the selected detector. The value of this parameter corresponds to the minimum size of the detection object relatively to the frame sizes. It is not applicable for all detector types | - | Average | - |
| Direction of search* | Press the arrow buttons | Sets the direction of search for the motion detector | 8 possible directions to object movement in the frame | All directions are selected: up, down, to the left, to the right, up and to the left, up and to the right, down and to the left, down and to the right | Up, down, to the left, to the right, up and to the left, up and to the right, down and to the left, down and to the right |
| Delay between MD_INFO (ms) | Enter the value into the field | Sets the time period in milliseconds between the MD_INFO events from the CAM_ZONE object in the Event Viewer (if the MD_INFO event is enabled in ddi) | Non-negative integer | 0 (not set) | >=0 |
| Stability detection sensitivity (10-127) | Enter the value into the field | Stability detection tool Sets the threshold of difference between the brightness of the pixel in the current frame and the background | Non-negative integer | 30 | 10-127 |
| Upper stability limit (%) | Enter the value into the field | Stability detection tool Sets the maximum permissible percentage of the stabilized frame pixels that differ from the background by more than the value in the Stability detection sensitivity field. When exceeded, the alarm verification process starts | Non-negative integer | 35 | 0-100% |
| Lower stability limit (%) | Enter the value into the field | Stability detection tool Sets the maximum permissible percentage of the stabilized frame pixels that differ from the background by more than the value in the Stability detection sensitivity field. Below the value, the frame is considered stable | Non-negative integer | 20 | 0-100% |
| Alarm confirmation time (s) | Enter the value into the field | Stability detection tool Sets the time period in seconds during which the Upper stability limit must be exceeded to generate an alarm | Non-negative integer | 1 | >0 |
