A motion in the area detector is a tracker detector that operates when VMDA detectoion tool that triggers when the object (objects) makes some actions in a virtual area that is in the camera coverageFOV.
To configure a motion in the area detector, do the following:
- Go to the the VMDA detection object settings panel for a VMDA detection object.
- Click the the Add area button button (1).
- In the the Video preview field field (3), set , by the nodal points of the area one by one one by clicking the left mouse button, nodal points of the area which state is to be analysed. Only one area can be added. If there is an attempt to add a second area, the first one will be deleted.
Make the necessary operations with an area. Area The operations are shown in the table.

If there are three nodal points the whole area will be deleted
To select an object type for which the detector will trigger, click the the symbol. Available object types are given below.:
- Any Any object. Detector Detector triggers while dealing with any object Man. Detector .
- A human. Detector triggers while dealing with any man
- Vehicle. Detector triggers while dealing with any vehicle
- a human.
A vehicle. Detector triggers while dealing with a vehicle.
Info title Note. Detection of the following object types can be configured using scripts and registry keys: a human, a group of humans (with a possibility to count the number of people in a group), a vehicle, noise, an object carried into the area, an object carried out of the area, other objects. More precise objects classification can be performed using the neural filter (see Configuring the neural filter).
To select a detector type, click the the symbol. Available detector types are given below.
Any motion in the area. Detector triggers due to any motion in the area
Entrance into the area. Detector triggers due to object’s entrance into the area
Exit from the area. Detector triggers due to the exit of object from the area
Appearance in the area. Detector triggers due to the object’s appearance in the area
Disappearance from the area. Detector triggers due to the object’s disappearance from the area
Stop in the area. Detector triggers due to the object’s stop in the area
Precense Presence in the area for more than 10sec10 sec. Detector triggers due to the object’s precense in the area for more than 10sec10 sec. This period can be confgured with LongInZoneTimeout registry key (see Registry keys reference guide).
Abandoned Abandoned item. Detector triggers due to the item abandoned in the area

To set the object color to be triggered by the detector, click the icon. The color picker palette will open. Circle the required color range with the left mouse button.
To reset the selected color range to the default value, right-click in the palette area.
- Set the generated when the detector triggers, set the Generate alarm on camera checkbox checkbox (4), if the camera alarm should be generated when the detector triggers.
- To save the changes, click the the Apply button button (5).
