Define required disk space (VMDA metadata storage)

When using the smart search in the archive, the VMDA metadata storage is created and configured (see Creating and configuring VMDA metadata storage).

The size of the VMDA metadata storage depends on the frame rate, minimal and maximal object size, tracker sensitivity: the higher the frame rate and larger the object size, the more disk space is needed for storage.

If the record is performed 24 hours a day, it's possible to use the following formula to estimate the disk space required to store the object tracks database: 

DB VMDA (Gb) = 0,5Gb * (Number of cameras) * (Number of days)
