Configuration of Axxon PSIM system objects generally includes the following stages:

Select an object

To select an object, do the following:

  1. Open the Hardware tab containing objects tree.
  2. Select an object in the objects tree.

Create an object

To create an object, do the following:

  1. Open the Hardware tab containing objects tree.
  2. Select a parent object in the objects tree, which should be used as a basis for the creation of a child object.
  3. Display the context menu by clicking the right mouse button and select Create object.
  4. Select the type of a new object using the corresponding second level menu.

As a result of the above operations, the object settings panel will display an identification panel for the new object.
  5. Specify a unique identification number in the Number field (1) and the unique name of a new object, Microphone in the example on the figures, in the field Name (2).

    Note.

Entering of > and < symbols is forbidden in the Name filed. They will be removed when settings applying if these symbols are used in the object name.

If the identifier or the name are not unique, the corresponding message is displayed on the panel while the field is highlighted in red.

  6. Click the Apply button to complete the object creation process.
  7. As a result, a new child object will be created based on the selected parent system object.

    Note

If the parent system object has one or more child objects, then you can expand the list of child objects using the icon, and collapse the list using the icon.

Change the parent object

When changing the parent object you can move created object in the objects tree of Axxon PSIM without losing settings.
To change the parent object, do the following:

  1. Select the system object the position of which is to be changed in the objects tree.
  2. Select a new parent object in the drop-down list on the settings panel of the object. The name of the drop-down list is the same as the type of the parent object.

    Note.

If the object is moved to another computer, Axxon PSIM is to be restarted on both computers – on one the object is moved to and on another the object is moved from.
  3. As a result the object is displayed in the objects tree of the selected parent object.

Copy objects

The copy function enables cloning objects created in Axxon PSIM object tree (see also The Save function).

Note.

The copy function is guaranteed for the Video capture device object and its child objects: Camera, Sensor, Relay, Embedded detection tool, Face detection tool, Detection zone, Tracker, VMDA detection tool and Captioner. For other objects, this function is not guaranteed.

Copy objects as follows:

  1. Select the object to be copied in the object tree.
  2. To copy the object, press Ctrl+C.
  3. Select the parent object under which the copy of the selected object is to be created or one of the objects created under the parent object.
If the copy is to be created under the same parent object as the source object, then this step can be skipped.
  4. Paste the object using one of the following key combinations:
    1. Ctrl+V – paste only the copied object.
    2. Ctrl+Shift+V – paste the copied object with all child objects.

The object or objects will be created with the default names and a vacant IDs will be assigned to them. Parameters of created objects will be the same as those of corresponding source objects.
