You can use the User Interface to configure the display of various features.

To configure the user interface:

  1. Go to the Settings tab → Options → User Interface.
  2. Set the required settings listed in the table:

    Show prompts

    By default, prompts are displayed when you hover the mouse cursor over a control element (the checkbox is set). To disable the display of prompts, clear the checkbox

    Smooth motion allowed

    By default, animation is enabled to change the position of surveillance windows smoothly, as well as to switch between tabs smoothly (the checkbox is set). To disable animation, clear the checkbox

    Show video stream statistics

    By default, video stream statistics aren’t displayed (the checkbox is clear). To display the information, set the checkbox. As a result, the video stream parameters are displayed in the surveillance window for the following modes: live, archive, alarm, and search in archive.

    The following video stream parameters are displayed in the surveillance window:

    1. Frame rate of the displayed video stream.
    2. Frame rate of the video stream received from the camera or from the archive.
    3. Bitrate of the compressed video stream.
    4. Resolution of the displayed video stream

    Disable PiP viewing

    By default, preview of an alarm event in the surveillance window is disabled (the checkbox is set). To enable the preview, clear the checkbox

    Enable map auto zoom on alarm

    By default, when an alarm occurs, the icon of an alarm camera is centered on the zoomed-in map (the checkbox is set). To disable the auto zoom of the map, clear the checkbox

    Full screen mode on main monitor

    By default, the client (main monitor) is displayed in full-screen mode (the checkbox is set). To use windowed mode on the main monitor, clear the checkbox

    If you clear one of the checkboxes, after you save the changes, you must restart Axxon One (see Stop the client, Starting the client).

    Full screen mode on additional monitors

    By default, the client (additional monitor) is displayed in full-screen mode (the checkbox is set). To use windowed mode on additional monitors, clear the checkbox

    If you clear one of the checkboxes, after you save the changes, you must restart Axxon One (see Stop the client, Starting the client).

    Videowall mode on main monitor

    Configuring Video wall

    By default, videowall mode is disabled (the checkbox is clear):

    • To use videowall mode on the main monitor, set the checkbox in the Videowall mode on main monitor parameter.
    • To use videowall mode on additional monitors, set the checkbox in the Videowall mode on additional monitors parameter.

    If you clear one of the checkboxes, after you save the changes, you must restart Axxon One (see Stop the client, Starting the client).

    When you restart the Axxon One client:

    1. The button used to pin the panel isn’t active on the main monitor (see Interface of Axxon One), and the following elements aren’t displayed: the archive navigation panel and event panel (see The Archive Navigation Panel), the layout panel (see Configuring layouts), messages about system errors that occurred (see Control in Live Video mode), the alarm board (see Working with an Alarm Board).

    2. The following elements aren’t displayed on additional monitors: the object panel (see Object panel), the archive navigation panel and event panel (see The Archive Navigation Panel), the alarm board (see Working with an Alarm Board).

    3. The map (see Working with the interactive map) is available on the main monitor and additional monitors

    Videowall mode on additional monitors
    Location of the control buttons in the surveillance windowSelect the location of the control buttons in the surveillance window from the drop-down list:

    InsideControl buttons and elements of the surveillance window (context menu, buttons for starting export and selecting PTZ mode, and others) are displayed inside the surveillance window
    On side

    The default value. Buttons for switching between different video surveillance modes are located on the side of the surveillance window

    With this option, the following elements aren’t available: the zoom feature (in live and archive mode, see Scaling the Surveillance window) and the button for switching to immersion mode (see Immersion mode).

    Outside

    Buttons for switching to different video surveillance modes are located outside of the surveillance window

    Hide date in surveillance window

    By default, the time indicator (see Time display) doesn’t display the date (the checkbox is set) in the surveillance window. To display the date, clear the checkbox. As a result, the date is displayed to the left of the time indicator in the surveillance window

    You can also completely hide the time indicator in the surveillance window. To do this:

    1. Go to the role settings (see Roles).
    2. In the Access to Functions group, in the Unlock camera menu button parameter, select No.
    3. Set the access to camera/cameras to Live.

    As a result, the time indicator is disabled on the specified cameras for all users of this role.

    Show camera short name

    By default, the short name (ID) of the camera is displayed in the surveillance window (the checkbox is set) (see Camera). To disable the display of the short name, clear the checkbox

    Optimize video resolution before rendering

    By default, video optimization in the layout is enabled (the checkbox is set). This automatically reduces the number of pixels displayed in the layout if the screen resolution is lower than the camera stream resolution and also helps reduce CPU load. To disable video optimization in the layout, clear the checkbox

    When you enable this option, you can notice a decrease in image clarity in the layout.

    Enable hardware decoding

    By default, hardware decoding is enabled (the checkbox is set). Hardware decoding activates Intel Quick Sync Video (see Hardware-based decoding with Intel Quick Sync Video). To disable hardware decoding, clear the checkbox

    Keep aspect ratio

    By default, the video image has a proportional aspect ratio in the surveillance window (the checkbox is set). To stretch the video image to fill the entire surveillance window, clear the checkbox

    Adjust video frame border

    By default, surveillance windows are fixed in size and occupy the entire available area of ​​the layout, but the video images maintain their aspect ratio (the checkbox is clear). To make the sizes of surveillance windows in the layout proportional to the video image resolution, set the checkbox

    Show onscreen controls only on selected channel

    By default, the control buttons are displayed on all windows (the checkbox is clear). If you want to display the elements of the surveillance window only on the active window in the layout, set the checkbox. This setting is only relevant if you select Outside in the Location of the control buttons in the surveillance window parameter

    Sort devices by name

    By default, cameras (see Camera) are sorted by their short name (ID) on the object panel (see Object panel) (the checkbox is clear). To enable sorting by name, set the checkbox

    Hide side panels when maximizing video signal window

    By default, when you maximize the surveillance window, the side panels are not hidden (the checkbox is clear). To hide the side panels and map when you maximize the surveillance window, set the checkbox. In this case, when you double-click the surveillance window, the top panel isn’t hidden, but the side panels and map are hidden on the main monitor and additional monitors. The buttons of the side panels are always visible. You can exit full-screen mode in the same way. The top panel, side panels, and the map are visible again

    Maximize cell on double-click

    By default, you cannot maximize the window by double-clicking (the checkbox is clear). To maximize the surveillance window by double-clicking, set the checkbox. As a result, when you double-click the surveillance window, the top panel is hidden on the main monitor and additional monitors. The side panels and map aren’t hidden, and the buttons of the side panel are always displayed

    Layouts
    Slideshow period, s

    The default value is 3 seconds. Set the slideshow interval in seconds. The value must be in the range [1, 360]. The slideshow mode is a cyclical switching of layouts with the specified period. The layouts are switched with the specified period. You can start the slideshow using the context menu of the layout panel (see Configuring layouts)

    Only the users with the appropriate access permissions can select slideshow modes (see Roles).


  3. Click the Apply button. To cancel the actions, click the Cancel button.
