Attention!

  • The client version and the server version to which you connect must match. We strongly recommended avoiding any connections if the product versions don't match. The versions of the installed DetectorPack must also match (see Installing DetectorPack add-ons).
  • If the server version is older than the client version, you will be prompted to update the client automatically (see Automatic update of a remote Client).

You can start the Axxon One client from:

  • AxxonOne shortcut on the desktop.
  • Start menu → All Programs → Axxon One → Axxon One.
  • Start Axxon One notification area (see Tray Tool utility).
  • command line by specifying the login, password, and server parameters. All parameters are optional. For example: C:\Program Files\AxxonSoft\Axxon One\bin>Axxon One.exe --login=root --password=root --server=127.0.0.1. To connect to multiple servers (see Cross-System client), specify their addresses separated by commas. For example: C:\Program Files\AxxonSoft\Axxon One\bin>Axxon One.exe --login=root -password=root --server=10.0.11.30, 10.0.11.34.

Note

  • The Axxon One.exe executable file of Axxon One is located in the <Axxon One installation directory>\Axxon One\bin\ folder.

  • To start the client in safe mode with OpenGL software emulation, select: Start → Programs → Axxon One → Axxon One (safe mode). When the client is running in safe mode, the frame rate decreases.

  1. As a result, the Axxon One client starts and the authorization window opens. Log in to the system for the first time as the root user with administrative privileges. In the Username and Password fields, enter root.
  2. Click the Connect button.
  3. In the window that opens, enter a new password twice.

    Specify the required settings listed in the table:

  4. Click the Apply button.
  5. If you are not logging into the system for the first time, then specify the required settings listed in the table:

    Select the server to which you want to connect. If a remote user connects to the server, enter the name or IP address of the computer to which the connection is established

    Attention!

    If localhost is specified as the name of the server or a node, the server doesn't start.

    The order in which the servers are displayed in the list:

    1. Preferred servers (see Preferred servers).
    2. The last server that was connected to.
    3. Other servers found on the network in alphabetical order.
    Username
    		Enter the username
    Password
    		Enter the password of the current user
    Remember me

    		By default, the Remember me feature is disabled (the checkbox is clear). To log in automatically, you must set the checkbox. If you disable the Allow access to Remember me feature parameter (the checkbox is clear) in Options → Security policy (see Security policy), this parameter isn't displayed on the startup screen of the client

  6. Click the Connect button.
  7. If user login must be confirmed by the system administrator (see Roles, Supervisor confirmation):

    Specify the required settings listed in the table:

  8. Click the Connect button.

If authorization is successful, the video surveillance monitor is displayed on the screen.

Attention!

  • When you start the client for the first time, the Archive tab opens. After you create an archive, you are automatically redirected to the Devices tab to create IP devices. Search for IP devices starts automatically (see Searching, adding, configuring, and removing IP devices).
  • If Axxon One is running in demo mode, then after you enter the authorization parameters, a corresponding message is displayed (see Starting the client in demo mode).
  • If the server to which you connect doesn't belong to any domain, after you click the Connect button in the authorization window, a message is displayed:

    To connect to the server, you must click the Apply button and create a new domain based on the server (see Creating a new domain), or click the button and add the server to an existing domain (see Adding a Server to an existing domain).

  • Launching Axxon One with the client logging enabled can take a long time when the ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Real-time file system protection mode is on. To solve this problem, add the Axxon One installation folder and the folder with the client logs (<Letter of system disk>:\Users\<User>\Appdata\Local\AxxonSoft\Axxon One\logs) to the list of exceptions in ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.

  • If NetLimiter 2 is installed in the system, CPU usage can increase significantly when Axxon One is running. You can resolve this problem by removing NetLimiter 2.
